Back Alley Pub and Grill

I really wanted to like this place, but my visit was honestly pretty frustrating. The service was incredibly slow even though it did not seem very busy at all, and I had to wave down someone multiple times just to get a glass of water. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and really lacked any kind of flavor. It felt like nobody there cared about the customer experience, and I ended up leaving feeling disappointed and still hungry. I definitely will not be back.

Such a great local spot! The service was friendly and welcoming. Got the Italian sandwich, mushroom burger and cheese curds, all great. The atmosphere makes it a fun place to hang out whether you’re bowling or just stopping in for food. Definitely a hidden gem!

Horrible! $17.75 half pizza pan of garbage... We ordered nachos and they were awful. So salty combo of weird white cheese and pump cheese. Almost 0 taco meat and an over abundance of jalapenos and olives. Tiny portion cup of guacamole that was $2.00. $8.75 for measured (small) Black Russian. No taste other than super watered down Kahlua. Horrible service. It took forever to get the food. Our server didn't drop it off nor did she bother to check on us, not once. After we sat there for a while ( not eating our crap food and empty cocktail glasses) server pops by super quick to drop off our bill. I don't usually leave such negative reviews, this one was well deserved. Yes I realize it's in a bowling alley... But come on now.....

Really like the restaurant. The patio area is fantastic, everyone really likes the food and service, and even though there is a bowling alley attached, the restaurant noise from it is minimal.

The flatbread pizza was amazing! Our server, Rebecca, handled a group of 11 like it was no big deal. She was great! We will definitely be back!

Always a great experience. We have a large group that bowls every two weeks and then we eat a late lunch. The staff, Krystal and Lisa in particular, are always the absolute best. We've tried just about everything on the menu - and continue to be surprised at the quality and quantity of the dishes. Great job you guys and THANK YOU!

Always have an amazing time at Back Alley!! The girls that wait on you are fantastic! Warm and welcoming, we bowl a couple games and then our group goes onto patio to enjoy food and conversation ! Their flat bread pizza is the bomb! Well haven’t had anything that wasn’t great! If you want to have a great time and food, this is the place for you!

Our group of friends bowl every other week,after we get late lunch. This has been going on for the last 6 to 8 months. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the waitresses provide excellent customer service. We always sit in the back patio area and have a great time, will highly recommend you guys thanks

Myself and my 83 year old Mother-in-law walked in today, 4-7-26, mid-afternoon into the pub and grill entrance. There were 3 ladies that saw us come in, with little acknowledgement. One lady smiled with no hi. Another lady came in from the bowling area and said hi to us. Another woman behind the bar said you can sit wherever you want and I asked if we could sit outside, meaning outside the indoor bar area. She said yes and handed us 2 menus and said she’d be out in a minute. We went out, found a table under cover. There was a large group of patrons that were quite loud (I’m guessing 12-14 people).
I was thinking it was taking a long time to have a server come to our table. No water, no acknowledgment. The large group was deciding whether to sit inside or outside in open air… they decided to sit inside and they were so loud we couldn’t hear eachother.
I asked my mother-in-law if she would feel more comfortable going inside to sit and she agreed. Again, no one was sitting in the dining area inside.
When I walked through that door back into the inside bar area, I saw 3 ladies at the counter chit-chatting and enjoying the slow afternoon. I therefore decided to leave and go somewhere else where we might be respected as patrons.
Therefore,
We gathered from our experience that we were thought of as outsiders— “non local” or “non-regulars”.
My mother-in-law has lived in North Bend for 83 years. I’m 54 and was raised in Coquille. I own a home that’s a half mile from the bowling alley.
I’ve been to eat there a few times and was excited to show her some good local food. I think the food is great, but our experience was the lowest of the low. I was a medical assistant in this community for 25 years. I know hospitality. I know caring.
This was the absolute opposite of that.
I’m still trying to figure out why we were ignored for an unusual amount of time when 3 of 4 ladies were just chitchatting around the register/bar area when we showed up. I hope you have cameras in your facility Mark Mattecheck. I will not fabricate my experience.
I hope you will take action. You lost a lot of $ today.
We both tip well and have money to do so.

Bathrooms are not ♿️ accessible.
Food was delicious, got a chicken ceasar wrap. Drinks were delicious but my hot toddys were not quite hot enough. I'd come back.
