This place was delicious. Spam wusudi, pineapple chicken. The chicken was soft as can be. Large portions. Very impressed. Since being here the Captains choice was great, this place great, blue heron terrible and the boat worse. Only thing I don’t get is why no one uses air conditioning. Dang it’s hot people.

I was ripped off! They overcharged my credit card. When I brought it to their attention they said they couldn’t help. I showed them my receipt they said they credit back my card a lie! It showed and was quickly removed. They are a bunch of crooks. Besides that the food had no taste. Beware only go if you want to be cheated!

My husband and i went there tonight and was greeted by a nice and friendly young lady named Mckenzie and one of the cooks named Matt. Matt quickly helped me with options that fit my keto diet that was delicious. My husband had the loaded baked potato that he said he will order every time because it was that good. Mckenzie was so sweet and friendly and i enjoyed watching her in action and james and matt were stellar as well. They cooked my food to perfection and believe me when i say, it was the best experience all around that i have had in a restaurant in a long time because of these 3 workers!! Way to go Hawaiian Grindz!!! Mckenzie, James and Matt i appreciate you 3!!!!

First off I want to say this review is with peace and love! This place has some real potential to be good. First off, the protein choices were obviously cooked in large batches the morning of and sit in warmers all day. Chicken should really be grilled when ordered at places like this, especially for the price. (For an example please look up Mo Bettas in Utah.)Mac salad was extremely underwhelming and sad. Would be super easy to fix with the right seasonings a little more mayo and apple cider vinegar. Rice was decent. Guava cake was 10 out of 10! I so badly want this place to be amazing. We need a good Hawaiian restaurant here in coos county.

I've been wanting to try this place. They have good advertising on the local radio and we finally went yesterday. The atmosphere was ok, albeit they have reggae music. I was surprise they have Mexican menu too. Anyway, I had the Kilauea chicken, it was delicious. My partner chose the sampler plate. Good flavor on the beef but a little tough. Of course the Kalua pork was kind of bland (like in the Islands?)The two employees were very attentive. The highlight was the orange cream smoothie....wish I'd order one too. All in all, it was a good experience. You guys should try it and see for yourself. Mahalo nui loa for the experience... PUPULE

Some of these reviews are crazy to me. My family and myself have never had anything but a wonderful experience when eating from Hawaiian Grindz. The food is never too salty and they’re generous with their portions. Plus Makenzie behind the counter is always friendly and helpful. This is one of our favorite local places to eat and we’ll definitely be returning soon.
