Service was very good but I ordered my eggs soft on my eggs and it was written on my receipt and I was charged $2.00 extra for my egg breakfast and they were hard. The waitress never checked to see if our breakfast was ok so I couldn’t tell her. She did however say that 15 cartons of eggs used to coat $40 and it now costs $160 which I find ridiculous.( and probably not true) I live in California and they have only doubled in price not quadrupled! They had put a tiny little warning on their menu stating about the $2.00 up charge for any egg dish you had to pay extra for your eggs!! The waitress had to show it to us it was so small. I left over half my eggs Benedict on the table in a box on purpose but our nice waitress chased me outside to give it to me thinking I forgot it. Needless to say we won’t be back to Renee’s . Very disappointing. They are making a fortune on that up charge for the eggs. I guess that’s one way as well as a $7.00 up charge for a specific vodka. Our bloody Mary’s cost as much as our breakfast . Wow!!

1st time stop in. Husband had club sandwich and I had a Fire Burger. Both were delicious with handcut fries! The house Bloody Mary was also great! Amazing meal for under $50.
Not the same. Used to be much better. Service is not very good, even when they're not busy and the same food we've been oredering for a decade is not the same, even though prices are higher. We don't mind paying more but when the food is now not as good that's a deal breaker. Today might have been our last stop. Sad.
We had our PGE employees breakfast/lunch there. They were able to accommodate our large groups. Food came out fast and hot and amazingly tasty (even though they were completely full). Coffee was very good and so were the drinks.

We've given this place 3 separate attempts to like it, based on positive feedback from friends. The 1st time we came, it was 2 hours until closing time and the available (limited) staff were rude and acted like we were inconveniencing them for coming in. We sat down at the bar and ordered food and a drink anyway because we were hungry, and understand people have bad days. The guy bar tender/server's attitude lightened up a little once we started making conversation but he was extremely rude to others who came in after us, ignored folks standing at the door waiting to be seated. The food was ok, it's bar food and typical of most places like this; sandwiches, fries, etc. Food and drinks were quite pricey for what it was too.
2nd attempt was a weekday morning, we came in for breakfast and it was mildly busy. We waited by the front door to be seated, with numerous staff walking by us, and even looking at us (and a few others waiting) and they didn't even acknowledge any of us were standing there waiting, such as letting any of us know they'd be right with us, etc. We stood there for nearly 10 minutes, being ignored before we, and a few others waiting, just left. We decided we'd never try them again after that kind of service until the other day when we were again in downtown OC and starving. I said, let's give them another shot. People have their days. 3rd attempt, we were greeted and seated quickly by a nice waitress, ordered and received our coffees really fast and got our breakfast order in pretty quick too. Food came, and what I ordered had a massive chunk of animal fat in the mixture that made me spit my entire bite out, and I lost my appetite for the rest of it from that point. I've made, and ordered a lot of this type of meal from many places over the years and never bitten into a giant piece of gristle like that. Very off-putting. My partner's meal wasn't any better, and when I brought it to the servers attention they tried to get him to order something else, and we'd both lost our appetites. They said they'd comp the meal, which they did, but the tab still somehow came out to over $40 for 2 coffees and 1 meal, each cup of coffee (that we only had 1 refill on) was $4.50 each. After that, the server disappeared and we didn't see them again, even when I went to pay, I stood there for over 5 minutes at the bar waiting for someone to acknowledge me so I could pay the bill. Our server was busy talking very intimately with another customer at the seat by the front door. Another server finally came out of the kitchen to help and went to get our servers attention to pay the tab. The location is great, however the staff and service is really hit or miss and the food is the same. Sadly it feels like yet another business in the area that relies heavily on friends and family for support, while they treat new folks and people who give feedback about their products and service, like they don't matter. We won't be returning, and will not be editing this review, even with a nice or nasty owner response (as they've clearly done with others here). Do better, the restaurant industry is a tough one and, bad news travels fast.

Ranees ----was----- a great place. But something bad has happened. Two times now we weve been completely ignored, waiting on line at the door to come in. Staff would not even make eye contact (!!) or acknowledge we were there. Not at all friendly. People in front of us and in back of us in Line said same thing the last time we tried. . It used to be a Go to for us but not anymore. Customer service is important. I'm sorry, it's a shame really. Not going back.
Good day with a great person! And the staff was good too

Renee's is great! I've mostly stopped in for breakfast. Everything I have ordered has been amazing, and the portions are ridiculous! I always leave with leftovers. If you order a breakfast that doesn't include bacon, you MUST get a side of it. It is, by far, the best bacon I've ever had!
They also serve beer and cocktails. They are made really well. And, the staff is super friendly. One time I stopped in alone. I wasn't having the best start to my day. I sat in a back booth by myself. The waitress came over to take my order and sat down across from me. She started joking with me and cheered me up (I think she knew it hadn't been a good morning). She asked me if there was anything else she could get me, and I jokingly answered, "Only if you can change the TV station to my morning 'Game Show Network'!" She laughingly went and grabbed the remote and switched it for me. I wish I knew her name because I would tell her thank you again. She completely changed my day.

Service was great, but thats where the compliments stop. I ordered the ridiculously priced chicken & waffles and have never been more disappointed in my life. The chicken was so unbelievably dry and dark, not even the syrup could save it. Worst chicken I've ever tasted. And I'm really sad about it because I was extremely excited for it and wanted to like it. But I can't lie, that bird was inedible.
