“This is our second favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is fresh. And the staff are very nice. However, the flavors are bland. The Mongolian Beef needs to be spicy. Even with asking for it to be hotter, it bland. The lo mein noodles in their photo are thick, but what you get is a very thin noodle. What brought me here is to let the owner know that their crab puffs have NO crab flavor. It's basically cream cheese and nothing else. Please add some imitation crab or scallions. Other than those few suggestions, we still like this place.“

“I have literally been eating at this restaurant since infancy and have had countless birthday meals at Ma’s growing up. I feel compelled to write a review now because I moved to Portland almost 2 years ago and have yet to find comparable Chinese food. My husband and I find ourselves craving Ma’s way too often and just get disappointed and disgusted by the abysmal options the city has to offer. We will be making a trip down in the near future just for a decent meal.“

“This was recommended us by the front desk clerk at our hotel. The service was very poor. The waitress was not attentive at all. I had to ask for tea then the sugar then a spoon to stir it. Reasonable prices. The fried shrimp was very good. The fried rice was okay. They would not allow a substitution from pork to chicken fried rice. That was disappointing as my traveling companion can’t eat pork. My Chow Mein was good. The didn’t have a dipping sauce for the shrimp.

Dietary restrictions: Not able to make any substitutions. They would not allow us to substitute chicken fried rice instead of pork fried rice. My friend can’t eat pork

“We ordered for delivery and while the food was overall pretty good, I was disappointed in the packaging for some of it. We got some mystery meat with no sauce and no label, some sweet and sour pork with sauce but no label, and then 3 different tubs of 3 different sauces, all with no labels. Just weird not knowing what is what or if it’s even what we ordered.

It’s been hard finding good Chinese food in Oregon, not just southern Oregon, so this one was overall pretty pleasantly surprising but I really wish I knew what I was eating and I also really wish the meat was served already tossed in the appropriate sauces but I suppose that’s just personal preference. Definitely will be returning though, and they’re close to home!“

“While not much to look at the food here was quite good. I really appreciate that it is easy to spot the vegetarian options. Although while on this topic I must say me and my dad were quite surprised when they started us (and the fellow customers) off with French fries and chicken nuggets. The fries were and my dad ate most of the nuggets some I assume they were fine.

I got the mixed vegetable stir fry and I was particularly impressed with how good the light sauce they used tasted. My dad enjoyed his slightly oversized portion of chicken stir fry which is clearly meant to be shared. I also tried the hot peach tea but I can't recommend it. It just kept brewing and it quickly got too strong and bitter.“

“I cannot tell you anything about the restaurant side, but the bar is a really kick back place, definitely great for a few games of pool and some decent priced brews, outside smoking tables in the back which seems to be the same backyard of the restaurant/bar owners house. Very nice, peaceful setting. Only negative I'd say is the bathrooms and carpet in that place could use a remodel for sure“
