This place was an unexpected find. It's visible from the 5 fwy, so we decided to pull in and try it. We are so glad we did! There is so much flavor in everything. Delicious and huge portions. Service was amazing. We will be back. Sign currently says "Puerto Mazatlan," so you know it's the right place. They said they are working to update the sign. Definitely come try Los Portales!
A lot of time when going to a restaurant like this did is always the same. But this place tasted like everything was made fresh. The chips tasted like they were just made, The rice was fluffy and tasted amazing, Beans tasted like it was freshly made, not dry. We shared the Carnitas Fiestas, the meat was so tender and tasty. We found this gem on a Monday late afternoon before a GCU basketball game, so there were not many people there when we arrived. The parking lot is large and well lit. The restaurant is quite a large space with plenty of room for dancing and a band which they have on the weekends. They also offer outdoor seating.
