Edit: the owner called me a liar, wow. Portland is not a progressive city. This is a great spot, but just like every other bar in this area, the customers are racist + misogynistic. The red haired guy at the bar (assuming he’s a regular) was going on and on about women would not be able to create a better society than we have now. The guy with the glasses was talking about Black names that are hard to pronounce. Dog whistles everywhere.
I feel bad for the femme person working, and the SO of the red haired guy. The SO clearly recognizes that their partner is a bad dude. The employee working here was clearly uncomfortable with what was being said.
As a feminist + anti-racist, the behavior of these two white men was disgusting. It’s hard to want to come back, despite how chill the atmosphere is.
The bar scene is not what it used to be. It’s not a place to share knowledge. It’s a place where white men are still privileged. This needs to change ASAP

We rented out the bar for our engagement/joint bachelor/ette and the atmosphere was great! Ari welcomed us and our guests with a smile.
His passion for the space and for his craft are contagious.
The space itself was great and definitely enjoyed the call out to the TARDIS that’s in the bar as well.
There is a great drink selection and our friends complimented the drinks, including the NA brews! Would hands down recommend this place for events and for just general vibes as well

I’m vegan and I’m a hungry girl ? I definitely eat before I visit. I LOVE this pub for atmosphere and wine, and even just a soda pop on occasion. Excellent date spot. If you want a low key, quiet experience with a chance to sit by the fireplace go earlier.

This place is cozy with a fireplace on one wall. I discovered it one night and they had a live musician playing music. I think they called themselves Bex. It was really chill. Violinist, multy instrimental, with a voice of an angel. Bartender was nice, and they had Mead! It was good. Never have I ever had Mead before and I don't think I will be drinking anything else there. I felt as though the ombions took me into a modern version of a Viking tavern. Loved it. Totally recommend you checking it out.
