I rarely do reviews on Google, but I was compelled to do so. I travel for work and I make it a point to come to Afuri as a tradition. So this is not easy for me to write this.
Okay, let me start with the good – the food was seriously fantastic. I absolutely devoured the Yuzu Shio Ramen; it was incredible. The karaage and the chef’s flight was seriously delectable. Our server, Angelina, was genuinely a 5 star server. She was so friendly and attentive.
But honestly, that’s where the experience took a really noticeable turn. Two years ago, I used to come here pretty regularly, often with clients and friends, and back then, the vibe was fantastic – the servers and bartenders were consistently top-tier; I've rarely encountered a group so energetic and skilled.
Unfortunately, things have shifted dramatically. It feels like a completely different place now. I barely recognized anyone, not even the busboy with the man-bun who used to always be around. It’s disheartening to see such a decline in standards. There were moments where it felt like staff were distracted, with people on their phones, and I saw a significant amount of interaction happening around the bar. It was a bit concerning to see someone working on a laptop the whole time we were there. Also the beverages seem off.
Honestly, I can’t really recommend this place at the moment. It’s a shame because the potential was clearly there, but the current atmosphere and apparent drop in overall service quality make it difficult to get behind. I hope they improve.

The food here was so yummy! I had the Tonkotsu Tantanmen ramen which was perfect. My server, Josh, delivered excellent service and a seasoned opinion on which food choices they enjoyed the most. If looking for great food and quality service, I highly recommend Afuri.

Great gluten free ramen and delicious rolls! Lots of allergy friendly options and they have Tamari.

The best ramen I have ever had! I don’t even love spicy food but the Tonkotsu Tantanmen is the love of my life.
Menu prices seemed high but total bill was pleasantly less than expected.

really nice atmosphere and VERY good quality fish, it is pricey though. Unfortunately the worst ramen I’ve ever had. The Tonkatsu Shio was completely flavorless, tasted like noodles in water. Maybe it was just a fluke because the other food was delicious. I was having a wonderful experience until the ramen so it’s a shame.

This restaurant is weirdly situated between a ramen joint and a sit down Japanese restaurant. What I mean is that there is a very good menu consisting of high end sushi, skewers, and other unique Japanese dishes.
My recommendation is to come here for a special date night or occasion and order more than just ramen. Get sushi, get skewers, get other appetizers and desserts. As far as the ramen goes, it is really rich and flavorful broth but lacks toppings and chashu to compliment it.
You should come here, but make sure you are coming for more than ramen. Other ramen places can give a better ramen experience for cheaper. But this place can give a great Japanese dining experience for a higher cost.

The customer service is amazing. I forgot my backpack (outside, no less!) and when I called, they reassured me that they had it AND that they were about to call the ice cream spot we were headed to—so considerate and responsive. Thank you for a delicious meal and for being awesome humans!

I had a deeply disappointing experience with one of the waiters—a white male with a moustache—whose behavior toward me felt discriminatory and biased. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout the interaction. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and I hope the management takes it seriously.

The beautiful space was the highlight of the dining experience. Food was forgettable and not something I’d return for. Very unfortunate that chicken thigh would be that dry. Noodles were fine. Service was obnoxious.

2 hours and 100 dollars later, the two of us walked around the corner to Hat Yai to actually get some good food. Where the waitress will actually be hospitable and you don't wait 20 minutes between your appetizers and main dish. Sorry, not 20 minutes, I waited an additional 10 minutes after my friend got his main dish, so 30.
