Some of the reviews below with low scores simply have never ordered ramen before when they complain about certain ingredients being in their bowl. Sashimi, awesome. Sushi fresh and light. And the apps are the best things about japanese food. Best ramen in Portland.

Don’t get any of their sushi “rolls”. They’re just cheap kimbaps. And they charge lots of $$$ for it. Trader Joes Kimbap would have been way better and cheaper!

I’ve gone to this place multiple times, so disappointing how the food quality has gone down. Ramen is just average now. So sad.

Afuri Izakaya has the best sashimi I've ever tasted! The staff was also incredibly lovely, making it a fantastic dining experience.

A discriminatory Asian restaurant—kept rushing us constantly. I’ve never had such a terrible experience at Afuri. I must say, the one in Japan is completely different from this place.

Although it's not my MOST favorite ramen here in Portland, it's definitely in the top 3. I really do like it, and it's a shame that the downtown location closed.

Beautiful interior. The RAMEN! Heavenly. I'm plant based and they had the best vegan ramen I've tried anywhere. Truly exceptional.
Those I went with who eat animals loved their food as well.
Super beautiful space, I would absolutely return. Great job!

It pains meet to report that one of my favorite restaurants in PDX has lost it mojo of late. Case in point... Saturday night with new bartenders that could not reproduce the cocktails on the menu.
Gave them two tries... bland and uninspired examples of really good selections. Then the karaage did not even resemble the fantastic results of past days. When I mentioned that, the bartender basically suggested I needed to order it differently... huh? Back to the drawing board I guess. Let me know when you have it figured out.

Their yuzu ratan is easily the best ramen bowl in Portland. The combo of savory, spicy, and tangy is insane. One of the best and most unique ramen I've had.

Great food and atmosphere. Service is ok. Was served the wrong beer and when I notified our server she was defensive and tried to tell me I was wrong, which I clearly was not. It was uncomfortable and weird throughout the rest of our meal.
