Used to work here, and still love to come when I visit Portland. The spicy coconut is my favorite 🤤

This place has been a go-to for ramen, but last time we went, it seemed wayyyyy too salty. Got the brothless noodles, and it was literally like chewing on salt.
Like, I know ramen is salty, but this was nuts.
I'll definitely be back, but I'll be scared

I had to add soy sauce to my ramen, the broth wasn't *remotely* salty, which was very disappointing. :/ The aji-tamago was also hard boiled, not soft. Kinda lame.
I've had some other stuff tho, like their karaage bowl, and that's very tasty!

This has been a low key PDX spot I’ve visited for years and have always gotten great noodles. Very approachable, perfectly fried tofu, & the perfect rainy day ramen. Super friendly staff as well! ( Dani in particular)

This spot has the best standard ramen in the city. I mean that as a good thing, it's exactly what I want when I want a shoyu ramen. Nothing crazy, not their own quirky portlandia spin on it, just great Ramen and a good price. Love it.

I got the Shoyu ramen and it was pretty good. The star of the show for me was certainly the egg. If I had one complaint, it would be that the noodles weren’t quite as done as I would like, but they still tasted delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

I could see the flavor intentions, but we both agreed the broth wasn't mature, and the chashu was thin and tough. It's affordable though.
We had to bus our own table to sit, and to do so we needed to take napkins from another table.

Love this place! Super tasty ramen here, and delightful staff ♡ I brought a friend here who ordered a spicy ramen, but didn't realize the medium spice was super duper spicy! She told the staff, and they offered her a side of plain broth to help with the spice. Don't get anything spicy here if you don't like extreme heat!

Akasaru Ramen was a nice visit to for a yummy lunch during a rainy day. There was window seating here which is always a plus from me. All of the prices for the items seemed reasonable and the ramen I got was yummy. The only thing I hope is improved is the ramen noodles itself. The ramen noodles within my dish were still hard and clumped together at some patts, like they came out of a frozen package and needed time to thaw. If that could've been improved the dish would've been even better.I still recommend a visit here, it's the only ramen spot on Alberta I know of making it a valuable location!

This is the best ramen place in town. It’s our secret spot.

Chicken karage was perfect. The ramen was disappointing. Broth and noodles were good. The pork belly was ok I guess. Egg texture was strange to me. I sat in a wobbly bench that moved whenever the other person on it moved. No public bathroom. It's was a neat, clean place. Self bus tables, but was unclear where to put dishes? It was just a sad, uncomfortable, unsatisfactory experience.
