I am an unsweetened latte sort of person, so I tend to look for a place that actually has decent espresso. This place definitely does. They also have a couple options for vegan pastries. The vibes are chill and it's a good place to read or chat with a friend

Such incredible coffee options and delicious baked goods In a comfortable and charming neighborhood snuggle space. This continues to remain one of the better coffee shops in Portland. They have outdoor seating here for people who just wanna catch up with good friends and be outside. They also have wonderful spots and to relax and connect.

Years ago I got a cup of coffee here, and the tasting notes said 'Peanut' and I said I was allergic to peanuts. The barista, with zero condescension but also in a real effort to teach me something new patiently and informatively explained what tasting notes are. I didn't totally grok it though, and was still anxious, so she made me an Americano.
Years later, I learned what tasting notes were, and my appreciation for tact deepened.

Service is "at the employee's pace", per usual in Portland. The pastries and other a sundry eats were sub-par, according to myself and 6 other women who purchased food. Get a heating situation for your food together people. A friend was told her scone was too big to heat up. What, do you have an Easy Bake Oven? My cheese pretzel was cold and gross. The cardamom shot in your coffee is pretty choice though.

Impressively incompetent. The barista initially forgot our drinks (nbd) so I asked for them again; I noticed they kept serving drinks to people who had ordered after us, so I checked in and they said they were next. They continued to not make them, so I asked again.... The 4th time was the charm, but the lattes were barely warm. Bagels were burnt and almost cold, and served without the cream cheese on them. Mistakes happen, but you shouldn't have to ask for a couple of lattes four times and then face a bit of an attitude when politely pointing out that our drinks still weren't being made. So bad it was funny.

It's a good local café with a nice selection of both savory and sweet pastries, as well as great quality coffee. I appreciate how early it is open though it can get slow during earlier hours at times if due to lack of morning staff but it's understandable. I like the comfortable and sleek atmosphere of the interior and it's a cozy place to hang out.
