Lots of space, good coffee, good service! Good place to work on your laptop.
I wish their pastries etc were better, but this place still shines as one of my favorite coffee shops.

We stayed in Portland for 5 days and tried quite a few coffee spots and this was our favorite. The coffee was smooth and balanced (thankfully not acidic like several other places), they have really good pastries, and they have good WiFi so it’s a nice place to work.

Best coffees in PDX.
Some review earlier wasn't happy with the food. Its true they only have pastries. But dogs are allowed and I think you can't mix dogs and kitchen food.
This is a great neighborhood coffee shop with world clas baristas.
I recommend it.

Five years later, entire staff wears masks and asks customers to also. 🤪

my partner and i were recently in discussion about where to get coffee and read in the late afternoon/early evening. it came to my attention that this shop is only open until 6pm. as luck would have it, we are rarely in need of coffee after the 6pm hour, so it posed no problem to us. having said that, we were westbound on SE Hawthorne Blvd. when we came across the shop. i thought they did a lovely hot lottay, and my partner was positive in her review of the americano. please try the pastry selection and let me know if it is of a high quality. i consider myself to be quite well eaten in the world of pastry so i do like them a lot.

Favorite coffeeshop in Portland. The space is so homey and “real” — old wood floors, mismatched chairs — instead of feeling like a developer built it. Great place to camp out and work. And of course the drinks are delicious.

Saw > 5-7 vegan baked options and they’re tasty. Quality rivals tabor bread’s scarcer vegan baked goods. Enjoyed with my oat milk latte. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Very cute place with good vibes and great coffee, but definitely packed with limited seating.
