I've been twice, everything sounds and looks great but every item has turned out kinda bland or one note. The different sauces all seemed to have the same problem, runny and mostly soy without much else going on.

I had the vegan pho and my friend had the vegan pork belly rice noodles. Super delicious. Will be back.

Sat. The lunch spot was crowded. We ordered banh mi sandwiches to go. They were a bit pricey, but came with a side of broth. I will look forward to trying the rest of the menu.

The ube coffee was SOOOO tasty!! I paired it with the ube waffle and oyster mushrooms. The waffle was light and fluffy with just enough sweetness from the ube flavoring. The oyster mushrooms were tasty but I think the fryer oil might need to be changed. Overall though, a lovely place with a tasty menu. Would definitely go back!

Not your typical Vietnamese restaurant.

Pho broth is rich in flavor. Not all watered downed. Both the beef spar rib and pork belly are good.

Chichen wings have little too much fish sauce for my taste buds.

Shrimp tempura was decent.

Fried Oster mushrooms are delicious.

Garlic noodles with katsu chicken is delicious.

I might be back if i were in the area in the future. Nothing to go out of the way for.

I went for brunch. We had the coffee flight, ube waffles with chicken and the ube butter bread. Coffee flight came with Vietnamese coffee, ube foam coffee, pandan foam coffee, and sweet cream cheese foam coffee. I can't recommend this enough. It is an absolute treat and enough to share between two people. We ordered two and it was too much. Two dishes and two flights was about $75 with tip. Only room for improvement was it does take time for the flights. They are crafted with great effort and took longer to prepare than our food. Our food came before our drinks. Which is why I rated them a 4 and not a 5. Staff is very friendly and attentive. This place is worth the trip. Located in the super cute, historic Kenton neighborhood.

Just moved to the area and tried An An on recommendation for brunch. The coffee flight was fun & worth it. The chicken wings on the brunch menu were some of the best I have ever had, fried perfectly. The coconut curry udon noodles with chicken and the ube waffle with chicken were both fantastic, and both were very solid portions. Can't wait to return in the future to try cocktails and dinner here

Food and atmosphere were a full bowl of awesome sauce. Had brunch here with my partner a few weeks back. The food had subtle flavors at first But then began to build with umami, sweet and spicy. The location was very easy to find and the inside and outside were very modern. Only reason for the four stars is the host was very forward and questioned our ability if we can afford the establishment. It was hoodie weather in the PNW, and I do not normally dress up during this time. I do not flaunt money nor should I have to in order to be seated for a meal. Once past the host, everything was incredible. Server, kitchen staff, food and drinks. They even had an outdoor patio that allowed my dog. Will definitely visit again, but might skip brunch if it is the same host.

I really wanted to like this place but the two people who were working there this afternoon were being extremely disrespectful. Came here with a few of my friends and it seems they didn’t want us there because they kept asking to take our plates away and if we were done with our food when clearly we were still working through our plates. To top it off, they brought us the check without us even asking for it. They definitely didn’t want us there. Btw it was around 2:30pm and they weren’t even busy. We ordered a lot of food because they had a lot of good sounding options. We just wanted to enjoy it without rushing. We were probably there for 30 minutes before they started rushing us out of there. I had to ask if they were closing because I thought maybe I was overthinking it and the waiter said “no” so I’m not sure why they were acting that way. All I can think is that they were being racist, Islamophobic, or they just didn’t like our vibe for some odd reason. Also my drink was watered down, the Vietnamese beef was too chewy, and the fried chicken was dry. I would’ve given them a second chance if they weren’t so rude.

First time in Kenton. It’s a little nice corner in metro Portland. The restaurant vibe and food is more of a fusion Asian, not of a traditional Vietnamese eatery. And we really liked what we ordered, garlic noodle with grilled prawns, caramelized pork with egg, and takoyaki fries, and Vietnamese coffee which had a little too much ice … overall the experience exceeded my expectation . Will be back.

We left the restaurant without ordering food. First the waitress threw a water bottle onto the table. Both of us felt she must be in a bad mood. While we wait for her return to place an order on a non busy Saturday. I saw all waitresses were gathering in the back, chatting.

Then she went back to the bar and fixed herself a drink and continued her conversation. During the 10 minutes waiting she never bothered to look toward us.

Luckily we sat at the table. We knew we would not enjoy the service and just left.

No idea if the food is good. But without service it does not matter.

I've been here a few times before and am always so happy to return. The food never misses and the service is great! On this particular day as it's rainy and chilly heading into fall, we couldn't help but stop on for garlic noodles and a big bowl of soup ?

The butterfly passion tea is delightful. That might be an understatement, it's incredible! My only criticism is the bamboo straw. I get that it eliminates single use plastic and is better for the environment, but it's not really practical for that drink. ? The passion fruit seeds get stuck, then the straw cracks apart. Eventually I give up just sip from the glass. It's the smallest thing, really. Everything else about this place is great. Bring your friends and have a real good time.
