Came in for a quick oyster fix. Was greeted promptly by Fara, she was lovely. Got some fresh, clean oysters with a decent mignonette and a good martini. Overall pleasant experience a better than expected good time

Really weird experience. Honestly some of the worst service I've had in Portland. Our first server was so rude and unwelcoming, making no effort to make us feel comfortable. Half the time she was sitting at the bar just staring at her phone when we were waiting to order. The bartender had to come over multiple times to take our orders (while also handling making the drinks, she even had to tell the server "I think they want to order food"). The food was very average to below average. My dish was not cooked through very well, and the server took it back after I had cut into it because they forgot to add some garnish. Just an overall uncomfortable and unenjoyable dining and cocktail experience. Sounds like this place used to be better but has taken a drastic step downhill. I'll happily go to any of the dozen or so other places within a block of Angel Face before I go back here. I would love to give it another chance but until the staff is properly trained and until the prices reflect the value I'm getting, I cannot recommend this spot to anyone.

Amazing! Such kind people. Another customer spilled wine on my husband and then ran out the door. Angel Face comped a round for us. 🥰

Bizarre experience. Came here as a solo diner tonight, 11/17. Almost immediately felt unwelcome and awkward when I couldn’t find a spot at the bar, despite it being relatively slow. Found a stool and moved it to a clear spot away from the couple other groups gathered around the bar. Was told rather coldly that I probably shouldn’t sit there because of prep space needed for making drinks, when there was plenty of space for said drinks. Moved awkwardly to the side until it seemed like I wasn’t in the way somehow. Literally stared straight ahead and waited for any acknowledgment of my presence. Was just about to leave after 5-7 minutes of nothing when a server/bar back asked if I wanted food. No greeting. Never gave me a menu to look at. I was feeling so weird so I said no and decided I’d just get one drink since it was pouring outside. The bartender finally acknowledged me and opened up when I asked them how their night was going. But why am I the one having to begin the exchange? I worked in high end hospitality for years and if the servers want to give an impression of sophistication and integrity, show a little warmth. Otherwise, it just seems like they’re not qualified to be in a front-facing role.
Drink (nonalcoholic Negroni) was nice and well-prepared. Not sure about the food since I lost interest from the weird vibes.
To make things weirder, it seemed like the server/bar back (not the bartender who made my drink; they were cool once I got my drink) could definitely hold conversations with others at the bar. They talked to a few couples, knew their backstories, etc. I honestly don’t even know what this person was doing because they weren’t making drinks or serving. They clearly had the skills to talk to people, but it seemed so selective.
Too bad. I’ve recommended this place before but will no longer. Was going to come here for an anniversary but no way now.
Once again, WEIRD, unwelcoming, almost mean-spirited vibes. Management, talk to your staff.

Very cute inside, drinks were okay tasting but we felt like our server was rather not nice to us. The place wasn’t super busy but it took quite some time to get our drink.

Great drinks. 5 stars thanks to the bar tender and their staff - and their drinks. However, they could use an additional well so the singular bar tender isn’t so slammed

Decided to take a chance but the reviews saying the service wasn’t good couldn’t be more accurate. We sat in the back but it took forever to get drinks and we almost missed our dinner reservation

We ordered drinks and 45 minutes later still did not have them. When I went in to check on our order, we were told they were running a bit behind (maybe 15 customers in the bar max). The server was polite and apologetic but bartender glared at me. When I came back from the restroom the bartender continued to glare and 5 minutes later our drinks were still not being made. We left and won’t come back. Cute bar, good atmosphere but the bartender is over her skis and obviously sensitive about it. Do not recommend

I don't want to say too much. I think it may have just been an off day, and I had a terrible date, and the overall experience was terrible. I felt bad for the server who worked that night, but this place could use a lot of reservation updates because no light and dirty tables are not of any kind of pleasure.
