Just did not satisfy the rainy weather chill ~ soup took a while to come out while waiting in a cold temperature restaurant. Broth was not piping hot. Server was apologetic for the delay but it was a lot of waiting for a work lunch. Broth was smooth & light.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars! The Friday soups were unbelievably good. Can't wait to try the other days!The woman who served us fell in love with our baby and gave her free noodles and potatoes and shrimp. It was awesome. They're so friendly and you can tell the family puts a lot of love and hard work into their food..

We went on a Sunday and ordered one of each soup of the day. Soups tasted just fine. We originally intended to order one soup and banh mi and spring rolls, but were told that they were sold out. Then saw that a few tables who were seated after us got spring rolls, which we thought was odd. I would only come back if I were craving the soups that weren't available anywhere else in Portland.

Update: I increased the stars to 4 stars for their improved customer service and willing to get everything fixed!! I came back today for just togo orders and they still remembered me and would love me to accept their apology! The foods are still perfect especially Annam Pho. I will be back again!

Fantastic soups, just as you should expect from all the VL spots! Best chili oil of the bunch. Great coffee, warm peanut sauce with the salad rolls. Nice open space, and everyone on staff was super friendly.

Amazing amazing amazing pho!!!! We went during their opening week a while ago and were obsessed with the daily changing menu. The soup was fantastic with lots of toppings. My companion wanted the soup to be saltier and the waiter brought out a mixture of sauces which he recommended we try if we wanted a bit more of a kick. Absolutely loved it, wish I could remember what it was. We also got the iced coffee which did not disappoint. Overall great food great experience. Will have to return.

At Annam VL, they do one thing and they do it exceptionally well. Their broth is flavorful, light notes of citrus, mid motes of coriander and herbs and deeper notes from beef, delicious. The service is warm & welcoming, prompt without hovering. The overall look is clean, light and airy. This is due to the high ceiling, the large windows in front and down one side, the blonde wood and light creamy paint. Uncluttered. A great place for lunch or soup to go. I will be back there again and again.

I was excited to try a place so well reviewed but had a poor experience. Our server was incredibly rude, and the food was mediocre at best. The broth in our lemongrass soup was DELICIOUS but the beef was so gristly that it was inedible. The buns that I’d heard were so impressive were to me bland and disappointing. They tasted like a boiled egg. I won’t be going back.

This place is so good just like ha vl. They do have the convenience of being open later. Ha vl usually sells out around 11:00am. I've been to rose vl and it's also good but this place is in a much better area. Biggest downside is there is like no parking. It is very modern inside and the staff is really nice!

Rotating dishes everyday on their menu. Today we had their signature pho which is the best tasting pho in town. Broth is clear with a deep and clean beefy flavor. Subtle sweetness with it which brings it all together nicely. Congratulations to the family for running their restaurants with great quality.
