Another PDX pizza place that lived up to the hype. I took advantage of my early arrival (5p) and ordered the calzone. Not your typical Italian Pizzeria calzone. This had a great chewy dough that oozed with sauce and ricotta. Truly a thing of beauty! I also ordered a large White pie with sausage. Next time, I will ask them to hold the herbs. The beer selection was small but unique. Check this place out next time you are in PDX.

We moved an hour outside the city three years ago and haven’t been back to Apizza Scholls until today. AMAZING! It’s everything we remember. By some of the comments I was worried something had changed. I worried for nothing. The best pizza we’ve had since we moved to Oregon from NY. Can’t wait to come back, it’s definitely worth the hour drive!

Excellent Caesar! Overall, found the pie lame. For all your hype, the presentation was NOT something to swoon over. The skimping on sauce, cheese and toppings was seriously disappointing and hardly resembled the rendition your website displays.

There’s an 18% gratuity added to all pick up orders. So we just left an involuntary 10$ tip on a pizza pie that we picked up ourselves. 50$ for a pie and a small salad… as an east coaster who just moved here I felt a little robbed for what we got. The pizza was totally good this isn’t about the food quality or even service quality, just wasn’t 50$ take out for two people good. It’s not feasible for people to want to come here for takeout
I will start this review by stating that when you dine in the pizza is very good. However, the most recent time we got takeout and we were charged a mandatory tip, which would’ve been fine even though why would we have to tip on takeout? But the pizza was cold the minute that I picked it up. So not only did we have to tip when no one serviced us, but we also got cold hard pizza. Overall not impressed with take out from here and will not be ordering take out again. If you eat here dine in, you won’t have any problems with dine in. Companies that charge a mandatory tip don’t pay their employees fairly and expect us to pick up their slack. Like I said it wouldn’t have been a huge deal, but the pizza was cold and terrible.

Mandatory 18% "gratuity" on a take-out order is ridiculous. Stop the tipping madness! Definitely not the best New Haven pizza I've had outside of CT. I found it chewy verging on tough, but nicely charred. On the other hand, the cashier was really friendly, and they made it quickly.

This is and has been the best pizza in portland for nearly two decades. If you look at the bad reviews, you’ll see them consistently complaining about rules/policies that are blatantly disclosed on the website. The good reviews are accurate. This is also the best Cesar Salad in Portland. Come for the pizza and salad, stay for the arcade.
