Was charged $18.00 for 3 plain soda waters out of the gun during dry January. Should have been given a heads up.

I came here for a meal before a show and I ordered the crab. It was way too buttery, and upset my stomach. I know that’s nobody’s fault in particular, so I kindly asked the server to order something else. I told him I would still pay for it if necessary, and I ended up apologizing to HIM. He replaced my meal with a salad, and when he returned to the table, he dropped the plate on the table with such force that the leaves flew into my face. He looked at me and said “oops”, rolled his eyes, and walked away. I heard him offer every other table around me dessert, but then he just threw my check at me! His service brought me to tears. Zac, if you’re reading this, you do not belong in customer service. There’s a difference between someone sending something back to try to scam the restaurant, or honestly not enjoying what they’re paying for. You never know what somebody is going through, so I’d like to believe that you were having a hard day too. But this is unacceptable. BOOOOOOO, ZAC ???

This is a perfect spot for an elegant dinner before a show at any Portland5 theatre. The service is excellent.

We never fail to stop by the Artbar before the symphony at 'the Schnitz'. Atmosphere is cool, barkeeps are cooler and you are ready for the show!
Cool location to meet with coworkers. This place has a cool feel to it. Feels similar to a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed visiting.
Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. The staff was very welcoming and observant. It has a good feel to it.
Few options, but good ones. Something for everyone. Food is reasonably priced. Great option before the show.

I love visiting here.

Terrible, terrible place.
We have been coming here for a few years for an early pre-Symphony Concert dinner and always thought the food was good value for downtown Portland. The new menu this fall has added some interesting items - I had the Short Rib Cottage Pie and it was excellent and made with sweet potatoes. It came with a Petite Green Salad which was anything but Petite - I did not finish mine! My wife had the Quiche of the Day which was butternut squash. She was impressed how the pastry stayed so firm and crisp when using butternut squash and asked our waiter how it was done. A couple of minutes later the chef came out to talk to us and explain all. This is the second time she had come to talk to us when we had a question - great customer service from a charming lady! As in my earlier review my only complaint is the over-priced wines. We take our own and pay the corkage - the only place in the Portland area we do that as we prefer to support restaurants that take wine seriously and do not overprice them. However, their glass pours are generous at about 6 oz. We'll be back for our next Synphony Concert.
GREAT dinner...and convenient.
