Update: One of the 40%, another excellent eatery lost to Covid lockdowns. I stopped in here a year ago, thank goodness Facebook reminded me because I couldn't remember the name of the place, and I always wanted to go back! I had an out-of-this-world hamburger, delicious coffee and great service. Excited to take others there.

Easily the most underrated brewery in Portland. I wish they would do another run of their radler which they haven't done in a few years, as it was hands down the best radler I ever had, but there other selection is great. There food is really good too, and their prices are on point.

Aug 2020 review: The food here is awesome! And I’m very happy they setup patio seating. The passing buses are a bit annoying but the passing trains are super awesome! There tends to be a lot of homes in the area but this restaurant is a GEM in an area hit particularly hard by covid and could use your business!!! Keep our local business strong ?

Great place for a beer. Rotating Taps, variety as well (they had a tripel). I have only sat in the bar area, but they have a very good vibe to the tap house. Knowledgeable staff, and the food is great, good variety on apps (not all deep fried) and although their menu isn't massive, what's on there is very good. I definitely recommend this place to start a night out or get together with a small group. The only downside is the layout of the taphouse area. It can be good/bad depending on your goal for the visit. It isn't meant for a group larger than 4 by any means and is a little bit crowded at that number.

Mike was amazing. This environment was nice, the food was great (chicken strips ). We got a flight if all beers and stayed for a while. Enjoyable environment and again Mike was a great bartender to spend time with!

I popped in (just mapped closest beer/brewery) after an errand. It was about 1:30 - little early for a brew, but it's my weekend. Hmmm. I am familiar with this area somewhat, but didn't know this was here. Wow, right by the train station. Paid for street parking then slid on in. The barkeep was friendly, attentive - Michael. Seemed to have a few regulars at the bar. Bartender was nice to provide samples - the tap list was captivating, not only the flavors, but the artwork and scribe of beer names. I had a Seismic West Coast IPA - it was nice, a generally solid IPA. Then, because I was having a nice time I elected to have a 1/2 beer - the NW Red. I liked listening to the different people talking but also, appreciated how Michael handled the room and service. Great stop - menu looks good/non-traditional. Good classic bar feel, that does extend back - think some view of brewery equipment, maybe a outside area (?)
We were looking for a quick bite at a small brewery while downtown and came across Ascendant. We were glad to find a deal with the $5 burgers. My wife got the Steel bridge stout which she enjoyed. They didn't have the ipa I wanted (the downside of a small brewery) but the Awesome with some citrus hints was good. I would recommend Ascendant for anyone downtown wanting to try something fresh

$13 for a cobb salad that had about 2 oz of chicken, 1 egg and maybe 2 slices of bacon. Definitely not worth the money. That salad was totally disappointing.

Beer was ok. Bush league excuse computer didn't pick up on their happy hour pricing by her was not ok as she knew we had to rib because we were part of great brew cycle experience.
