Ok, so I know this place is a staple of Portland. The service was great, the place has good vibes, but the beans were bland, the taco meat was rubbery and cold; overall not very tasty for the price.I will go back since the vibes are good, butI hope that the food is better next time.

On our most recent visit, we found not one but four(!!) long hairs in one of our burritos. We had it to go, so I called Aztec to let them know, and see if they would replace the one item affected. They never picked up the phone, nor got back to me via email. Disappointing from a restaurant we enjoyed many times prior.

Ordered queso and a cheese quesadilla. The queso was cold and had a layer of grease on top. It seemed not mixed (we mixed it in photo).
And the quesadilla cheese was not melted at all. I could clearly see the shredded cheese.
The service was great though.

Relaxed casual atmosphere Fun bands/ DJ’s Cute little local bar/ taqueria, Wonderful family owned and operated. My favourites are the chips, salsa, amazing guacamole, refried beans, pinto beans, chicken verde enchiladas, garlic shrimp, steak and mojitos!
They also have retained their top favourites from over the years on their classic menu from 1994 which is consistently incredible.
AW's is great for hanging our and good drinks, good enchiritos.
Unfortunately and not the fault of the restaurant there is a cartel drug lab in the attached building. Very sketchy comings and goings and makes the sidewalk in front of the restaurant very dangerous. Somebody needs to call the DEA hotline.

Is this the restaurant that called an Asian American customer a “ch**k” then kicked him out for bringing it to management’s attention? They also decided to post racist anti-China memes as if the customer they racially attacked is from China (how do they know?). Remember, the US government passed legislation in 2021 approving the spending of BILLIONS of taxpayer money into anti-China propaganda. The owners are clearly racist FOX news enthusiasts.
