Bamboo sushi is arguably the best sushi and experience in Portland. Rolls and sashimi are excellent, but don't miss the wagyu burger. We sat at the bar, and Morgan took amazing care of us; great service made a fantastic martini! We're definitely going to ask to sit at the bar again. Don't miss this place.

We love it here! Some of the best sushi and most unique menu items. Our server Morgan was so sweet and brought a big smile to our baby’s face every time she’d come by! She recommended the Unicorn Roll for us, and an avocado roll for our daughter - both did not disappoint!Kid-friendliness: Super kind servers and yummy food that even kids will enjoy.

I had sushi and a wagyu burger, no bun! I had a Dew Drop which was heavily perfect with the finest sugar rim I’ve ever tasted! The bar tender is super friendly very knowledgeable and kind. The best location for a date night after you could enjoy the moon light and the downtown atmosphere.

My husband and I arrived at 8:02, and there was plenty of open seating. The hostess refused to seat us, stating that they stop seating at 8pm. Listed closing time of 9pm is inaccurate.* This was a Friday night

Good overpriced food, but the shoddy treatment of employees gives me great distain. From posting schedules for workers the day before, to just straight up not paying their employees until the next week?

Honestly upsetting. We love bamboo, we go for every holiday, anniversary, birthday, whatever reason we can justify going. We decided to try this one out rather than the usual one we visit for Valentine's Day since it was closer to our concert venue. Turns out that wasn't a great decision for us. When we were seated we were told that we needed to keep our visit under 90 minutes because it was Valentine's Day and busy, which fair enough we understand. Except after we ordered our appetizers and drinks, our waitress didn't check on us again for 45 MINUTES and at that time we hadn't even gotten our miso soup yet. Keep in mind all the tables around us that got sat 30 minutes after us were getting their soups and appetizers, it was us alone who hadn't. When my partner finally flagged down our waitress to let her know, at first she said they take a while and then when we pointed out that everybody else had gotten there she said that the food runner had forgotten us. By the time we had gotten our miso soup and our first roll we had already been there for around 80 minutes. It had been almost 2 hours before we were served the 4 rolls we ordered. The sake flight and miso soup were supposed to be comped for the absolute ridiculous way the night had gone but it appeared the only comp was the soup when we got the bill. I am saddened by this experience, we loved this place, and it was all around incredibly disappointing.Dietary restrictions: Usually a great option for those who are celiac, it's why we go so often.

We had the Unicorn Roll, cauliflower appetizer and garlic tofu. It was all delicious!!! Staff were lovely, we enjoyed everything Sarah suggested. I will return, just without our daughter. There wasn’t any “kid friendly” options, we did get the avocado roll for her to try, but it was a no go. A suggestion of even something like a gyozo appetizer or a small kids menu!

I love bamboo sushi and have been going to the cedar hills location for a while now. I am always impressed by the quality of food and the amazing service provided. However this location was a disappointment. My boyfriend and I came here on Valentine’s Day and had a reservation at 4:00. We came on time and both hostess were very welcoming and kind. The same can’t be said for our waiter. He wasn’t out right rude, but you could tell he didn’t want to be there. He seemed very annoyed and when we said we still needed a minute to decide he seemed agitated and walked off to go talk to the hostesses. He didn’t return for a strangely long time. The menus and chop sticks we were given were also dirty and covered in little bits of food. I know they leave water on the tables for us to pour but even at the cedar hills location they would put you the first glass because that’s what good service is. When the food was ready he brought out my boyfriend’s roll first and it was another ten minutes until I got mine. It wasn’t a huge deal but it was really strange and awkward. He than brought out my roll and we were finally able to enjoy our food. It wasn’t remarkable. The food was fine but now that his had been sitting out it wasn’t amazing quality and for $18 a roll it it didn’t feel worth it. The kitchen brought out our small plates later and the women who brought it out did deliver the experience I was used to. However the fried cauliflower was cold. Overall it was disappointing to spend almost $100 on Valentine’s Day and receive such a subpar experience. I will continue to visit cedar hills.

Really enjoyed our dinner out at bamboo. Right in the heart of NW 23rd and is in a great location. Hostess and wait staff was a bit rude and seemed like we were inconveniencing them just by being in the restaurant (were there a full 3hours before close) and barely gave us the time of day. For that reason alone, go to a different bamboo where you can get the same quality food and ambience with better staff
