I'm sad. Just moved to Portland and was expecting some really authentic bao. My go to is char siu bao (BBQ pork) and big fluffy, airy buns. Alas, not the case here. Their bao is okay, not bad, but in my humble opinion, not what I grew up with. Even the red bean bao is, I think, their version of Jian Dui, a tasty Chinese desert I just love and miss. I realize that Portland is about creating their own unique style, but in my book they are just okay.

The food quality is very very bad had order some soup it was so terrible could eat more than a spoonful. I wish I could give the negative ratings to this restaurant. Pathetic quality of food and service; staff do not have basic etiquette. If you really want to spoil your mood then I'll surely recommend this place.

This place had great curry chicken bao bao. We really enjoyed the food from here. The customer service was amazing!

This place is so delicious. They have my favorite bao buns in Portland and they also have delicious wonton soup. I am a frequent flyer here and even have a bao bun punch card. I miss their food truck location but with covid it is totally understandable to just do the store front location. I'm sure I'll be back again and again, I love BAO BAO

Great place for lunch!! It has nice outdoor seating and the food is fantastic! I'm so glad this downtown branch has opened, so I can get my favorite chinese food when I'm in FiDi. From the appetite-appeasing starters like the wonderful tea eggs or fresh cucumber salad to the classics that made Bao Bao so popular like the Bam Bam Noodles and the Hot Chili Fish, they've got something I want to eat no matter the time of day, the weather, or my mood! This place is also great for the size - you can stand at a counter and eat your lunch quickly if you've got to go, but there's also lots of nice seating towards the back where you can relax with your friends. I've been to a birthday party here and it was really fun (and the hotpot was amazing!)The delivery is always hot and fresh too - the most important thing these days!

Pork buns are delicious. The other buns we had were all good but not as good as the classic pork. If I go back I'll stick to the pork. The taro bun tasted exactly like pb n j to me which is bizarre but pb n j is good so..? All in all pretty good.

Just tried their cafe location in Inner NE. The wonton soup was so good. The broth was light and subtle and the wontons packed so much savory flavor. Also ordered the veggie buns (mushroom and spicy tofu). Just the right amount of filling and also very flavorful. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

The wonton soup was amazing on a cold, snowy day. The broth of light and the wontons were packed with flavor. Also had the spicy tofu and mushroom rooms. Both were filled well and delicious.

Doesn't look like much when you walk past. Just a normal streetfood wagon. But the FOOD IS INCREDIBLE. Fresh delicious dumplings and bao's. A must-do when your in Portland downtown. I ordered already yesterday some of soup and dumplings and because it was so good I had to come back today & I'm still delighted. Enjoy!!

I looove this place. I only get their mushroom and tofu baos once a week. So amazingly perfect! They have sauces outside like some spicy oil stuff but I would recommend skipping it because it's just pure oils.

I ordered 2 baos. The pork one and the chicken curry one. Super fast and yummy. Must use the chili oil on the side. It compliments the overall taste. 3 bucks each.

The new brick and mortar location is charming and immaculate. We tried all of the baos and they were all spot on! Clean in flavors and delicate. Would recommend this to anyone!

I am so happy I didn’t decide on Killer Burger. Don’t get me wrong- KB is the bomb. But WOW, bao bao didn’t disappoint! I felt so comforted by the wonton soup and buns. The food melts in your mouth and makes you forget you’re at work. Definitely a must! I know there’s a lot of food carts next to bao that look and smell delicious but trust me... keep walking and eat at Bao!!!
