Came here on a Sunday for Drag Brunch and it didn't disappoint.. This was my first time and I will be coming back. The vibes were amazing. The show was so good I highly recommend. The food and drinks were great too!!

I love Bar Cala! One of my favorite little bars. It is MY Karaoke place on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Come check it out for Karaoke night and for the themed DJ dance nights, AND for drag brunches! I especially love the Latino atmosphere here. I've tried the food just a few times and it was yummy! The bartenders are absolutely awesome and make the best drinks. Overall, this is such a friendly, fun, inclusive place where you will feel cozy and comfortable.

Quiet disappointed in the food. Flautas were extremely overcooked, served with barely any salsa or guacamole. The carne asada fries were greasy with tiny bites of burnt meat.

During the day it’s pretty. It’s a great place for a brunch with your girls, take pretty pictures and what not. DJ nights are eh.. in my opinion, there needs to be more latin people 👀 it needs more latin music, if its meant to be a latin bar that is… skip the techno, skip the hip hop, rap.. stick to the spanish music. I’ve been there a few times just for dinner/ brunch and drinks, stayed for the music but this is not like Kasa, where you wanna be dancing all night long.

This place functions purely on vibes. It's cool if you wanna get some cute pictures for your instagram but the prices are really high for what you get and the food is just fine. Portion sizes do not reflect the price that you pay.

Bar Cala is a very cute and trendy place to check out with friends. Nice environment with great cocktail menu offering zero proof and traditional drink options. The outdoor patio is vibrant and the indoor space is equally cozy, entertaining and fun! Unfortunately the ordering process for food was a little disorganized and could use a better system in my personal opinion but overall it was worth checking out. It offers a tropical vibe for the rainy and beautiful city of Portland. I think this is a nice place to spend time with friends if you want a Latin inspired and fun sit down experience in the Alberta art district.
The brunch drag show was a blast. The food was fine. Who's doesn't serve coffee for brunch, and what bartender in a Latin restaurant doesn't know how to make a pinata mocktail? Go for the show but eat before or after. Also, it's VERY loud. The crowd's attire and tone was strip club for the frat pack. The restaurant decor says date night pink and brass, plants and plush booths, but the crowd looked like High School karaoke night.
