2024 update I love the latest layout. The old ones were good too, but this feels so clean and open and the colors are great. No slow service today! The Benedict is still there for the weekend. The Monte Carlo is still my husband's favorite. There's a berry french toast for me now too. I had the carnitas as a side for the first time and it was also excellent. Next time I need it with potatoes...
I'm so glad to live in the neighborhood again and to have had such an excellent visit this morning. See you again soon.💜💜

Service and/or seating can be excruciatingly slow on occasion, but maybe I just have bad luck and show up when someone called in sick more often than is representative. You do have to get up to refill your own coffee though, which disappoints me more than it should.... Still rating it 4 stars and eat there several times a year despite having moved 100 blocks away.

We absolutely loved having our 55-person wedding at Bar Carlo. The owner Mel is at the same time very supportive and very low-key, which made for a smooth planning process and day-of event. The space is gorgeous, and has multiple connected wings, which allowed for the the party to morph seamlessly over the night from barside cocktail hour to outdoor patio ceremony to dinner buffet to dance floor.
The space is already a beautifully decorated artwork, and Mel lets you decide how to arrange the space for your event, but you can also bring your own decorations/sound system/llama and she can handle those additions easily. 🙂 The food and drinks were delicious too, and Mel was able to accommodate our entirely vegan and gluten-free menu without hesitation. Overall we loved the unique-ness, flexibility and good vibes of the space and the people of Bar Carlo, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cute and fun space for their wedding or other event.

We absolutely love coming here for brunch! The bottomless coffee and fast wifi make for a great remote work spot. The friendly, warm, accommodating staff have been graciously welcoming of us bringing our babies in. And to top it off - the food is excellent! Honestly we could hang out all day. Huge thank you to the lovely people who run this place and the staff we interact with - it’s an unparalleled local gem.
Kid-friendliness: We come as a mom’s group for brunch and they are amazingly accommodating. They let us sit on the couch and make scrambled eggs and sides of avocado for the kids.
First time, the breakfast burrito was easily the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. The restaurant interior was special, very open and well put together. I also had the large breakfast which for the price is a great bang for your buck. We will be coming back for sure.

This place was amazing! We like to explore new breakfast places on the weekend and hands down this is the best place so far! I got The Elote hash and it was incredible! Only downside is I never experience a self serve basic black coffee area and I would of opted to skip it for the price, we made the mistake of assuming it was complimentary when the server just said “help yourself to coffee!” When she brought us water. You live you learn, but $4 for a cup was a bit much.
