Lovely wine bar. Great atmosphere. Well curated wine list. Excellent pate.
Went to bar Diane for cocktails and appetizers and it was really good. Our waitress was so knowledgable about all the food and wine. She recommended this very good wine from Croatia and it was one of the best bottles of wine we’ve had! We were so happy we listened to her recommendation. The food was delicious as always, and will be back to celebrate more things.
Such a nice little place tucked away from a busy street: Came here on a weekday for dinner while in town. Was impressed by its wine selection. The dishes here were not big in portions but perfect to share.
The cheese platter was nice, it came with a soft cheese like Brie and a hard cheese. The mussels were also amazing. The soup it came with tasted so good that we finished an entire baguette dipping in it 😂
Would definitely visit here again.
Cute hole in the wall wine bar. Interesting wine for sure. Not very large so it does get crowded fast.
Such an incredible dinner here! So glad we picked this for our one night in Portland. Amazing wine list. Such a solid food service. Lobster roll is a must.
Not worth the money. Do not get their “spice sardines”, they come in a can, horrible taste, cost $21. The service doesn’t deserve even a one star. They brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else, a desert for example, while our drink glasses were still half full. The bread, including gluten free bread, was awful. We felt they wanted us out asap.
Atmosphere was romantic and service was excellent.
The food was on par with a marinated bag meat from the Freddy at triple the price.
Wasn't worth it for the ambiance, even their bottles of wine was extortionate.
Fine meal but not nearly worth it.
Stay home at this price.
Three stars is generous, but I’m giving that for the ambiance and food taste. The food was good, but the small plates were absurdly overpriced. The real problem was with the staff obsessively clearly plates with food still on them (seemingly pushing us out). Oh I’m sorry a tab of $255 in 2 hours isn’t proper?! Not only did my over priced cheese plate (that resembled one I’d make at home) get cleared with food still on it, but the staff laughed it off when I remarked upon noticing. I would not recommend. There are far better places to spend your money in Portland.
Update 1/19: following our Friday night meal and drinks at Bar Diane, my two friends and I had come down with Norovirus (by Saturday evening). We did consume oysters which have a higher likelihood of spreading the virus. And/Or an employee could have been sick and not followed proper quarantine and hygiene protocols. Needless to say, we hope no other patrons ended up as sick as we did.
Lovely little hideaway. I appreciate anywhere that knows how to make a proper drink && serves caviar & oysters?! Perfect little date-night, or bring a book & chill, have a cocktail & snack vibes.

Bar Diane is honestly a showcase of so many great elements that makeup a space that is welcoming, enjoyable, and relaxing to be present within. It starts with the decor of the bar which is just 10/10. I absolutely love the design of the walls, the lights, the wooden ceiling and secluded booths. Once you see the little alleyway Bar Diane is tucked within, you'll realize just how special the design is going to be.
Secondly, the drinks here are so delicious. We tried the espresso martini, French 75, Hazey Rose, and a Strega Daiquiri which we're all fantastic. A special shout-out to the espresso martini which has to be my favorite cocktail I've ever had. It combies my favorite coffee roasters brew (shout out to Sterling Coffee) to make a drink that is sweet and smooth and not at all bitter but while still retaining a coffee base. Amazing drink!!
The food here tops everything off with easy to eat items, with standouts being the Lobster Roll (must try) and their steak which was cooked perfectly.
Along with the really sweet and welcoming staff, Bar Diane is a must visit and a soon to be staple bar you'll be returning to. Can't recommend this place enough, go out and try it!

Love Bar Diane! It’s a wonderful spot to grab a drink in the neighborhood and all the servers are super knowledgeable. It’s tucked away which makes it feel extra special with cute outdoor seating options and a fun, pink, accent wall. In addition to a fantastic wine selection, they offer cocktails and interesting zero proof options as well!

I've been going here for 4 years and love everything about this place. Wine, cocktails, food, desserts, vibe, service are all perfect. But please please please invest in better wine glasses—your wines and space deserve it!!!

We love the fact that they have an outdoor seating area off the street so we can bring the pup and eat in peace. But we were completely underwhelmed with the food tonight.
The milk rolls were only OK. I could put King's Hawaiian in the oven and be just, if not more, satisfied. The crudo was a total bust. Beside the super small portion, the soy sauce completely overwhelmed the hamachi. And the onion tartine needed a lot more caramelized onion - barely any. But the whipped goat cheese on top was good. The only thing we ate that tasted amazing in every way were the deviled eggs with tobiko and fried crispy onion. In addition, the greeter was unfriendly at best. Probably won't be back soon unless it's just for drinks.
