Completely disappointed in my experience. I love to explore Portland based on IG recommendations. This has been the worst experience of my adventures. The staff were rude and completely unpleasant. Absolutely no customer service skills. We had the Ode to Caesar salad and it was so bland and some of the lettuce was browning. My favorite part was the crunchy tortilla strips.

Service and drinks are mid at best. Expensive as heck. Tell me why 2 shots of Casamigos blanco with tonic costs $66. And the same single Hendricks with tonic has 2 different prices.

I was excited to try Dirty Pretty, but left unimpressed. A friend and I came on a Friday evening to have dinner and cocktails.
DRINKS: We tried the Only Fans drink, and while it was beautifully presented, hers was sweet and mine was sour, so there's inconsistency in the mixing. I next tried a house Marg, and have to say it was one of the worst margaritas I've ever had. I abandoned mixed drinks from there -- had no faith.
FOOD: The nachos were "fine", but my friend ordered the pork and was surprised to find that the meat was huge chunks of pork belly, not carnitas. The fried chicken sandwich was only so-so. The churros were good, but I would not come just for those. N
SERVICE: Initially our waiter was attentive, but after shift change (likely 8pm?) our new waitress checked on us once and then forgot about us entirely. About an hour sitting with an empty glass, I went in to the bar to ask about ordering more drinks, and she was sent back to the table to check on us, but that was again the last time we saw her for another 45 minutes. Finally, though we had originally asked to split the bill, my bill came with my Only Fans drink and chicken sandwich; her bill came with the remaining 75% of what we ordered on her tab, so we had to settle separately between us.
AMBIANCE: it is very cute and nicely designed, but the patio could definitely be more comfortable. The chair I sat on was missing a slat, and there was a jagged metal piece on the chair that nearly ripped my pants (and could hurt bare skin). The booths are cute but just too deep to be comfortable, unless you want to lie down inside of one or sit all the way inside and disappear.
Ultimately I was disappointed in our experience here, and we won't be back.

Such a cool bar! It had a nice ambiance and the cocktails were so unique. Our bartender was very friendly and was happy to tell me about areas in Portland when I told him my husband and I would be moving to Portland. I can't remember the names of our cocktails but they were very good! Mine had a pho wash which I was skeptical about when I ordered it but it was incredible. Highly recommend!

Stood by a bar to get a drink, everyone looked at me and no-one welcomed me or asked what I wanted to drink. So I sat down, for 15 minutes and no one came to get me a drink. Shocked at this kind of service as I was told this was a great place for drinks.

Went on a first date here - the person proceeded to verbally berate me for an extended period of time regarding my career, age, and the fact that people are meaningless and nothing matters (??) He went to the restroom, I was working up the nerve to walk out amidst my shock, and one of the waitresses at this establishment must have noticed his behavior and discreetly asked me if I was alright and if I needed any help. I said I was fine and was working up to leaving soon. Moments later she brought me a drink that the bartender had “made accidentally” and gave me a meaningful look, indicating that she was around if I needed an out. This waitress saw me as a person and not just a patron - she was thoughtful and kind and made me feel safe. It’s rare to find bars that feel completely safe for women, and she was the shining beam of hope that encouraged me to feel safe leaving in the middle of the disaster date. Thank you to Dirty Pretty for employing people who take their time to make people feel safe and seen. It’s a practice that will keep people returning to the establishment. Thank you to the waitress who offered me a layer of much needed support and protection against losers like that guy. We need a million more people like her in this world. ?
