Came for some bites to eat, and a date night drink. Great ambiance and food. Lovely bartenders except they were the weakest drinks I've had in town. I'm not a big drinker. One is usually my limit, 2 for big nights out. I'm a serious lightweight but I couldn't taste the anything but lime juice in my margarita. I have a hard time with a lot of citrus so gave it to my hubby and he asked if there was any tequilla in it. Then I ordered a vodka/soda instead. Again, just tasted like soda water and ice. Worth a 2nd try, but we were disappointed.

We came for Valentine’s Day…. Everything from the ambience down to the food was amazing. The fried artichokes were so so good. Cozy little romantic spot with excellent service and food. Can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely one of the best bars in Portland. Service, food, drinks, and ambiance all above par.

Excellent!! We have been several times. The food is always simple but inspired. Like delicata squash with the most amazing hazelnut crisp on top of lebneh. I love that this place is fresh and not you're typical bar food. It is elevated. Some things are a little pricey (like 5 shrimp for 30$ 🤨...I won't be ordering that again). But overall we have repeatedly wanted to come back here. It's delicious - great wine, cozy and cute atmosphere. A great place to entertain!

We had weekend brunch today at Bar Loon on Southeast Belmont and… it was great. We have always enjoyed eating at Bar Loon, but didn’t know that they had a brunch on the weekends, so this was a delightful surprise. The food was excellent, they have an extensive and well-curated tap list, and the service was great. Many thanks to Ansel who was our bartender, server, and bus boy. We highly recommend that you give Bar Loon a try any time, but especially for brunch on the weekends.

Oof. Really wanted to fall in love with this place. They did a great job re-decorating and the atmosphere is great. I had some terrible experiences with Sweet Hereafter towards the end and really put off coming back. I know it’s a Friday but operating at 75% capacity at best and still not getting 2 food items out in over 45 minutes is crazy. Then for all that was said and done, the price for waiting….probably not coming back any time soon. Pretty disappointed.

The decorations are adorable, the staff are very friendly, the food we had was a unique mix of classic French with a new American flare - absolutely delicious. We got the hash browns, croque madame, French Breakfast and toast. I don’t think people know they do breakfast/ brunch food because the place was quite empty. People should definitely check it out.

Such a cute lil find. Delightful cocktails, sweet staff and decorated beautifully 😍 Dropped by this evening for a cocktail on our way home. The staff were very friendly and pleasant, the drinks were great and the style was beautiful. The bar was an empty so the atmosphere felt a little off but I think if you visit when it’s a bit busier it will have more of a vibe. Would still 100% recommend visiting 🙌🏻

EDIT: Stopped past again early evening on a Monday and the place was alive! Atmosphere was great!

I drank the Big Time Sensuality and True Faith, and consumed the Tuna Nicoise and Warm Olive Oli cake. Chef's kiss for the food, and the drinks were phenomenal. VERY friendly and engaging staff. I dug the vibe here; 2 Missing Persons songs followed by The Smiths. Any fan of the Bellwether Bar should come here immediately.

The inside gives date vibes, back patio is nice for small groups of friends. I’ve been to Bar Loon twice, each time with one other person and both times I’ve walked in, approached the (not busy) bar, and have been told to, “go take a seat anywhere you like and come back up here to order when you’re ready.” Like - I just want to look at the menu, order my drink, and then sit down. I don’t wanna go sit down for 60 seconds then walk back up, so each time I haven’t. I’ve just lingered by the bar and ordered my glass of wine before going to the back patio and it’s been fine. But that service aspect really bugs me. Generally I’m greeted at bars with a “hey! What’s good? Here are menus, what can I get for you?” So I dislike Bar Loon’s approach of, “go sit and come back.”

I’ve liked the burrata, the decor is cute, it’s a bit pricey.

Leek toast is wildly amazing. Burger slaps. Eat everything. Chef Dan and Will crushed it and our bartender also made some heater drinks. 10/10 will come again

Chef Will and Chef Dan kill it. This menu is elevated but accessible. Heady but not snobby.
