Easily one of my favorite brunch places! I’ve probably been at least two dozen times, and often take friends or family here when they visit. I’ve never had to wait too long, and the food is consistently great!

It was a good decision to get there early and be first in line! Otherwise we will be waiting for awhile, as the line started snaking behind a few minutes after we arrived. Whatever we ordered was awesome! Loved the ambience! We will surely be back, if we go vacay in Portland again!

Absolutely fantastic food. I'm lucky it's not closer or I would be there all of the time! They have gluten free pancakes as well which takes care of my wife and her friend's needs.

Batter has some of the best breakfast in Portland. I have never had an even mediocre option there. Get the Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bakey, it's amazing. Also the You Betcha Buns are amazing. My wife likes the lox plate and the Asian fried chicken and waffle. My kids love the Chocolate Ahoy. Really, there's something for everyone at Batter. Go. Now.

Wow. A hidden gem. Crepes of all kinds. Sweet and savory. Fried chicken and waffles. Good healthy portions. More than I could eat. Really nice service.

BOMB DRINKS AND THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS

We went on a Saturday. It was a little weird to order at the counter then go sit since I thought it was a placed I was going to be served. Everyone was friendly! The food had delicious flavors and everything cooked perfect. The chicken was crispy on the outside but sliced perfectly with a butter knife. I ordered fried chicken and waffle with a mimosa and a coffee. The mimosa and coffee were ok. I will be going back to try a different item on the menu. Hope everything else is as flavorful. Thanks Batter for the delicious breakfast yesterday!

If you like, down to earth, nice human beings preparing your food, delicious menu options, and chill atmosphere. Batter is the place for you. The owner is awesome and works harder than anyone I know to make a friendly atmosphere and a relaxed experience. I go here every other week and whether it’s Brie and apples, or their pork and pickles wrapped in their crepes, it’s awesome. I am a fan of their order at the bar style then sit down, straight forward process to help get you serviced faster. Highly suggest.

Apparently Portland has a very wide spectrum of people’s preference for coffee roast styles. If you like the typical very strong Bitty bitter rocket fuel type coffee roast you’ll love their coffee here. I myself prefer very rich but smooth non-bitter coffee. My biggest disappointment would be the fact that when I ordered my meal to go and got the bill, it seemed just a little bit pricey for typical breakfast in the area. Apparently when I got home I discovered that they added the ham which I thought I specifically requested to skip. That was probably why it seemed a bit pricey.

Went to this place around 2015 and loved it, would've given it 5 stars then. Now the service has changed in a bad direction. Was told that they do table service on the week days and on the weekends, I went on a Saturday, customers have to order at the register, take a number, and go sit down. So they do table service on the weekdays but then on the weekends, turn to fast food service and there is also a tip jar on the counter to complete the fast food look. The reason I was told this was done was so Batter can control the amount of orders coming in and get food out faster. I can see why Batter made this decision but it's jarring to come in after experiencing table service and now you have a fast food style service. Also I interpret this as either their kitchen staff isn't experience enough to handle high volume or Batter doesn't have enough staff to handle high volume orders. I would assume Batter's tipping money goes down with no table service on the weekends too and also potentially could lose money because if you want to order something else, you'll have to get back in line on the weekends. Food is still great, it's just a shame to see a place that should just be printing bags of money because the restaurant used to be that good, be on a downward slide and I'm not blaming the servers or the cooks. Management, as per usual, is the one to blame for incompetence.

Their gluten free waffles and fried chicken are amazing, and it was an experience I've never been able to have anywhere else!

Consistently super tasty food and the staff is always great about accommodating for our toddler (family friendly Portland eatery). I highly recommend the pork belly pancakes!

10/10 would eat here again. Whatever they're putting in their buttermilk syrup got my head spinning! And I ate the eggs benedict so fast there wasn't time for a picture. This place does brunch right.
