Such a lovely cafe! Great place to go to for a variety of matcha and other authentic Japanese teas. Both their iced matcha and hojicha was amazing! They also have food and desserts that looked really yummy- didn't get to try this time but I wish I did! Employees are super friendly & have good recommendations. Lots of people studying, reading, & meeting up here, kind of had a more quiet and relaxed feel.

We had their mini baguette, inspired to try sandwiches with pears more often. Their matcha is very good, the only thing I would change is the parfait, I would classify what I was served as a float, a parfait would have layers instead of liquid.

Not much to add beyond the gajillion stellar reviews this place has. I stop here for onigiri and matcha every time I'm in town - it's an absolute gem.

Amazing food. Amazing drinks. However, please train your staff better. We went there 3 weekends in a row because my daughter loves the onigiri there. But the barista got our drink order wrong all 3 times.

The onigiri was dry and flavorless. The soup was delicious however so I ended up dunking my onigiri in the wasabi broth. My partner enjoyed the ham sandwich! I would love if they carried Hitachino beer.

Best little Japanese Cafe in town (minus the one in the Japanese garden if course).

I love this cafe! Relaxing environment that is the perfect place to read or get work done. Reasonably priced drinks and food, the pistachio tart and matcha ice cream are my favorites. All the employees are welcoming and friendly.

My family and I enjoyed the fun snacks and drinks here, especially the onigiri. There was a flavor for everyone. Plus the ambiance is nice with the Japanese inspired decor and large windows.

Mediocre experience. I would skip this one. Service was friendly but felt rushed. Also overall ambience didn’t feel authentic. There are better cafes in Portland. Not sure this place warrants such high reviews. The cafe at the Portland Japanese garden is better in my opinion.

Cute cafe - food was simple, but tasty. I had the ham and egg salad sandwich - veggies in it were very fresh and seemed to be a horseradish-ish sauce on it that added a little oomph. Tea drinks and pastries looked great - would probably return for tea and study/work.

One of me and my husband’s spots for cozy afternoon dates. Best hojicha latte I’ve ever had! Everything we’ve tried here is delicious and i love that it has a built-in gift shop full of beautiful art

This is one of my all time favorite places! I had not been in for quite awhile (because of work out of town) and was not disappointed when I went this week. The young man who tends to wear his hair up was so kind to me. (had just lost my house to storm).I usually get a pot of their sencha or their hojicha and ongari. It is one of the few places a vegan can get a savory treat which is SOY free.My system doesn't seem to love sugar so I have never had their beautiful pastries. I dream of something vegan with maple syrup or coconut sugar LOLIt is the ONLY place in town with a serene environment and not a line of people for BOBAI so wish their hours were 10-4 being I prefer my caffeine early but this is a sleepy city and everything gets going later than the east coast it seems. I would also love to see Califia or Minor figures oat milk as options but I know they are more costly.LOVE THIS PLACE!

I often use it when visiting Downtown. As the name suggests, this cafe is located behind the Portland Museum. The interior decoration uses Japanese items from the past and present, and many of the light meals, snacks, and drinks offered are Japanese, so I think it's a good cafe to easily enjoy a taste of Japan.I had the Hojicha Latte and Pumpkin pie. Latte is served in tea utensils. Tea utensils are placed next to the counter. I also learned the tea ceremony when I was a child, so it was nostalgic. There are staff who can speak Japanese, so even if you are not good at English, there is no problem, and I think it would be a good place to take a break when visiting downtown.

Parked. Walked up to the entrance. Noticed a man with his pants and underwear pulled down to his knees was blocking the entry. I decided to not continue towards him and returned to my car. Really wanted to try this cafe.
