As close as you’re going to get to a New York bagel without the 5-hour flight to Newark

New York style with simple ingredients, best bagels in town! The owners are great and the staff is always very friendly, there is a nice community feeling inside the shop.

Really tasty bagels. I'm not used to good bagels and no wait to get them. Tried their original, everything, and the cheese.Consistency was perfect.Space is pretty small, so if the weather is bad, it will limit how many people can dine in.Cute branding is a plus.

Only open 25 hours a week and still at 11:45 they were closing and couldn't be bothered to make a bagel with cream cheese. How is this place even still in business?

Best bagel spot in Portland! Locally owned and operated by a father and son. The topping selection is more limited than some of the others but everything is fresh and tasty. It’s also way faster and more reasonably priced.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get in, wide walkways and accessible tables.

Bagels are pretty good, but the place is run more like a hobby project than a business. Very uneven service. Wait times sometimes inexplicably long. I'd say it is 50/50 as to whether you will have a good or a bad experience, and that gets old pretty fast. They often run out of bagels an hour before the listed closing time, and what's worse they still leave the open sign up and out in the sidewalk. So if you drive by the look they are still serving--it's not until you park and go in that you find out there are no bagels left. They close at 12pm, but I wouldn't go after 11am unless you are willing to be disappointed. I've also seen dogs sitting on chairs at tables here, eating treats off the table more than once, which is a bit too dog friendly if you ask me. I have two dogs, and I would never even consider eating-in here due to the total lack of basic, sensible dog related health code enforcement.

Loved this bagel! The place was so cute, walk-in right from the street, i found parking right in front and the doors were open, making it so welcoming. The staff was super friendly and helped me customize my bagel option, which was everything toasted with cream cheese, lox, and onion. The price was reasonable at 10$ and it came out super fast. I had stepped outside and the staff came out with my bag to hand it to me personallyIt was delicious, they cut it to make it easy to eat and all the ingredients are fresh and yummy. Absolutely loved this bagel and lox! Will be back soon.

My second bagel experience in Portland and I will say while the bagel itself was good and fine, man is it small. Bagels to me are like ice cream, there's clearly levels with a ceiling that there are several high quality places are hitting. Like you can only improve on a bagel so much, then it's creativity and execution that starts to separate the high tier places. Bentley's bagels is definitely in that higher tier in terms of quality, taste, chew, schmear, etc. But at $10 for two bagels, it's just gotta be bigger than my fist. I have nothing else to add other than I had reservations about the jalapeno cheddar cream cheese, but it's good. Try it. It's cream cheese with some shredded cheddar vs. a whipped cheddar cream cheese if that makes sense.

These bagels are the closest match to authentic New York deli-style bagels that I've discovered in Portland. The texture is spot-on, the color is visually appealing, and the crust delivers just the right amount of crunch. Coupled with outstanding customer service, these bagels offer a genuinely exceptional eating experience.

The bagel was solid and it's in a convenient location which is super nice! They were super quick, the only thing is i wish they had vegan cream cheese. Overall good spot!

As someone who routinely drives miles out of my way for a good bagel, these are easily the best in Portland. Nice crunch on the outside, chewy on the inside. Highly recommended. But don't have the coffee with the spoiled cream. This is not recommended.Bagels = good. Cream = not good.

I want to start off by saying I think I just caught Bentley's on a bad day. But I must share my experience, nonetheless. I was excited to finally try Bentley's after hearing numerous recommendations from coworkers and friends. I arrived on a Friday morning, a few minutes prior to opening -- and they were open early! I walked in and was immediately turned off by the younger gal working the cash register. As a first timer, I had a few questions, and every answer I was given was served with a heaping side of attitude.Regardless, I was hopeful the bagels would overshadow this poor customer service. I ordered the most basic bagel order possible: scrambled egg and cheese bagel on sesame and a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese. The same gal made my bagels and it looked like she just mashed the ingredients together and threw them in the bag. Usually, when I get an egg and cheese bagel, the egg is scrambled but formed into a patty of sorts -- maybe Bentley's does it differently because the eggs were so scrambled I couldn't eat it without everything falling out (see my photo). My friend's cream cheese bagel was also sloppily made, the wrapper had more cream cheese on it than the bagel itself. All in all, it was a big disappointment, but hopefully just an off day considering all of the other positive Yelp reviews.
