I was already in the area for an iced matcha and didn’t want to drive home without food, so I walked over here after seeing it on Google maps. I was only barely able to get in the door because of the long line, but it moved very fast. I have to say, I instantly felt transported to Manhattan— it had the feel of a hole in the wall bagel shop in the Lower Eastside. Very cool.
I’d never heard of this place before and didn’t know what to expect. As a goth, I felt enticed to get a poppy bagel, but ended up getting a toasted garlic bagel with Holy Chiver schmear. The hot cashier with the mustache had good vibes. In total I was inside all of 7 minutes; they move like a well oiled machine back there!
Once I got to my car and unwrapped it, I immediately understood the hype. This was actually better than what I had in Manhattan. Possibly the best bagel and schmear of my life.

i went in, got a plain bagel with cream cheese for a test run. I was missing the time i went to crown heights with my hot jewish gf. So i decided to find the best thing i could in portland as a point of nostalgia.
Damn this hit. Perfect chewiness, not toasted. That hint of sour, and the perfect crust. I was really impressed. Also the shmear was the perfect amount. One of the better west coast bagels ive had. Bagels arent complicated, but they are kinda hard to make great. These were great. Also, lots of people in there around 12:45 right before closed. I expected it to be empty with no options left. Was a good surprise this sunday.

These bagels were perfect! The texture and flavor were great. I got a poppyseed bagel sandwich, and it was to die for. Lovely tomato jam and arugula on top of a warm bagel with turkey. My partner got the pork roll, and it was as classic as it should be. Impressive that they can not only make a fun and unique sandwich combo, but also a really well done version of a classic.

I think this is one of the best bagel spots in PDX! Nice veg options and tasty specialty schmears. Also some good vegan options. Some of my family who moved here from NYC are very particular about their bagels and not generally thrilled with Portland options; they agree that these are 👌 Staff is always friendly and service is quick.

Incredible New York style bagels. Highly recommend the lox sandwich. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and I left satisfied. Only thing they’re missing is a better coffee setup. But the drip coffee was great.

Best I've had in Portland, and one of the best lox bagels I've ever had. (I've had H&H and Russ & Daughters.) I got mine on toasted sesame. It came toasted but not too much. Amazing taste: the sesame seeds were a flavor, not just a texture. Nice ratio of lox, caper, and onion. Generous amount of excellent cream cheese.
Might have been nice to have a fresh local tomato option, given that it was mid July.
No other notes.

Excellent bagels, generously and deliciously filled, in a hip establishment, with excellent staff. The restaurant has a real buzz to it - a vintage cool vibe. We had no difficulty parking on the street right outside. The bagels really are of the highest standard. The fillings are traditional with a few imaginative twists. Top quality at a very reasonable price. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. They have a no-tip policy, with staff pay and prices adjusted accordingly - if only all restaurants in America would do this.

I am so excited to write this review because of the incredible memories I have made here!!
While I have only been to the bagel shop once, it holds such a special place in my heart.
First off - the bagels were incredible. Just the highest quality of any that you’ll find - anywhere. Fresh made in house, to unique and flavorful cream cheese. I can not say this enough. BEST. BAGELS. EVER.
Me and my boyfriend also got shirts here that we have worn to so many special events and it just fills my heart with the memories we made stopping in during our Oregon trip on a Friday morning.
Thank you all so much for an incredible product and incredible memories! Cheers !!

Delightful high quality vibey bagel shop. Try the lox bagel with everything; it’s a perfectly made classic! The bagels are made in-house and the ingredients are very high quality. They use LOTS of cream crease which is a plus!

For $14.50 I was expecting a spectacular lox bagel. It’s decent, bagel is great but it needs more onion and capers. I can fit it in my mouth too easily for this price.
