Great breakfast spot! We were here for a bachelorette weekend and it met all expectations. Mohamed was an amazing server who gave great recommendations! We will visit again!

Food is amazing. Atmosphere is great in both winter (indoors) and summer (outdoor seating too). Servers are the best. Mohamed and Ali are legends. 10 stars. ⭐️

Besaws has a reputation as being one of Portlands places to go for breakfast.
The place is beautiful and the wait staff were friendly and responsive.
Unfortunately the food was terrible. The omelette was dry and tasteless, the waffle was only a bit better. We can’t remember the last time we had such a lousy breakfast in Portland. We suspected it when our order came out within 5 minutes of submitting our order. The restaurant was full.
We will never go back. We actually know how to cook. This was a factory brunch!!

Besaws is absolutely worth the walk.

We did a three mile walk to get there and arrived properly hungry, which felt like the right way to approach brunch in the Portland morning air. By the time we sat down, we were ready.

I ordered a Bloody Mary (with bacon!) and my companion went with a hot toddy. Coffee refills were plentiful and genuinely good, not an afterthought. Everything arrived with a calm confidence that made it easy to settle in.

We shared the crab cake Benedicts, which were excellent. Rich without being heavy, well balanced, and clearly made with care rather than flash. We also ordered an omelette, and it more than held its own.

Both dishes came with house fried potatoes that deserve special mention. Crisp on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned exactly right. The kind of potatoes you keep eating even after you tell yourself you are full.

Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt precious. Just well executed food, good drinks, and a place that knows exactly who it is.

If you are willing to earn your brunch with a walk, Besaw will meet you there and take care of the rest.

Besaw's in name only.
The service was lacking in service. Once the food was down, no one came to check on the table until the food and drinks were gone.
Also, for $30 for a crab benedict, there should be crab enough to have some in each bite. The eggs were poached to a medium, which is fine, if you don't want a beautiful, runny yolk. The spinach could have been better washed as some pieces tasted dirty. The potatoes were over-fried, over-held, and under seasoned.
The hollendaise sauce was the best part, but there was shockingly little.
The bloody Mary was good, the broken straw wasnt awesome and as a result, I sucked more of it out of my moustache than the straw.
All in all, it was good enough, but not for $55 a person

Eggs, Benedictwith ham. The bread was soggy, the ham was cold, although advertised as grilled, the sauce served separately in a little pitcher Was cold And almost solid. The potatoes were brunt but crispy. The poached eggs were OK not overdone, but the whole thing was a waste of time and money horrible when put together I won’t be back.

Went for Sunday brunch. We had 8 people and were grateful Besaw's takes reservations, so we had no wait. Proficient serving staff, menu with lots of options. I can recommend the shakshusa. Downsides were only crowded street parking and the restaurant noise level.

Besaw’s was a regular spot for me to dine when I lived downtown and now that I live in the burbs, it’s a special treat to have a meal in a quintessential Portland eatery.

The service is always impeccable and they make you feel like you’re a treasured guest each visit.

House made churros are the perfect treat for a group of four. I love the Benedict options and have a hard time branching out from the hollandaise sauce, but the chilaquiles today were a nice change. I’ve also been known to get the breakfast burrito or Reuben closer to lunch.

I’m still smitten and had the Besaws classic breakfast this morning. They let me sub a chicken sausage patty for the bacon to keep Saturday kosher. The human who served us had a brilliant vibe and was very patient with our indecisive party.
