OG PORTLAND GEM
Besaw’s was a regular spot for me to dine when I lived downtown and now that I live in the burbs, it’s a special treat to have a meal in a quintessential Portland eatery.
The service is always impeccable and they make you feel like you’re a treasured guest each visit.
House made churros are the perfect treat for a group of four. I love the Benedict options and have a hard time branching out from the hollandaise sauce, but the chilaquiles today were a nice change. I’ve also been known to get the breakfast burrito or Reuben closer to lunch.

I’m still smitten and had the Besaws classic breakfast this morning. They let me sub a chicken sausage patty for the bacon to keep Saturday kosher. The human who served us had a brilliant vibe and was very patient with our indecisive party.

Yeah, I called a week ahead of time and told them I was celebrating a proposal from the evening before. They said on the phone how exciting and that they couldn’t wait to celebrate with us. Since my now fiancée loved going there, I thought it would be great. I told them when we arrived that it was a special occasion, but they just sat us and that was it. Beyond that, our waiter left for break, we saw him eating at the bar halfway through our meal, and no one checked in.
It was honestly such a huge letdown for what was supposed to be a really special morning. I even called back a couple days later, and all I got was, “Sorry about that, thanks for bringing this to our attention.” Like… what? Okay, I appreciate the apology, but I still feel sour over how the whole thing was handled.

I came here for brunch with quite a large group (without a reservation.) The employees did an amazing job at clearing a table as soon as possible for us. We got a fall salad for the table and it was an amazing addition to every dish. The people I came with loved their food. I got The King which was quite sweet, a little too much for my liking. Overall, great experience, great food, great time.

Was in a rush to get to a service with my parents, which was made clear to the waiter, and the food came out INCREDIBLY FAST. I got the breakfast burrito and couldn't have been happier, it was played great, the sauce was amazing, the price is completely fair. The service was very very good and we enjoyed our meal immensely.
Came here with two friends for brunch. The service was excellent. The food was very good and the price was around what I would have expected for a place like this. Clean, fast service and excellent cocktails which I think were the standout highlights of the brunch. Great cozy spot that is also one of Portlands oldest places.

Such a nice spot for weekend brunch! Visited recently with family, this was a last min plan so didn’t have a reservation but I would highly recommend making one if going over a weekend. We waited 20-34 mins and got a nice table overlooking the open kitchen.
We ordered the burrito, horchata French toast, shakshuka and the wild grain bowl and everything was flavorful, delicious and gone before we knew it! We will be back for more, with a resy 😅

The waffle is delicious, the avocado toast is super yummy, and the sides of potato’s were crispy and perfect. The service was so nice and efficient, we were in and out in like 45 minutes. We will definitely be coming back:)

Brunch at Besaw’s was fantastic! We sat outside and loved the great atmosphere. The lox & bagel, chicken & waffles, and breakfast burrito were all delicious, and the grapefruit mimosas were so refreshing. Our waiter, Mohamed, was incredibly attentive and made the experience even better. A top-notch Portland brunch spot!

The service was great but the food was just sad. I ordered a sakshuka and it came out as a watery tomato soup with no spices. My husband ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken was floppy and not crispy.

We arrived at Besaw’s on Saturday at 11:35 a.m. for our 11:45 reservation and were seated right away. Unfortunately, no one came to take our order for about 10 minutes, and we had to flag someone down. He apologized for the delay, took our order, and let us know the kitchen was very busy, so it would take a while.
What followed was a 45-minute wait with no food. When we checked in again, our server apologized once more and said it would be another 10 minutes. In the end, our food didn’t arrive until 55 minutes after ordering.
After such a long wait, we expected the food to make up for it, but it was below average. They comped our $5 orange juice and thanked us for our patience, but overall, the experience was disappointing.
With so many excellent brunch options in the Pearl District, Besaw’s is one that can easily be skipped.
Great Environment and Food Options! Our server Ally was so nice and helpful. She made our brunch experience exceptional.
