I waited in line and let another person go ahead of me because I wasn't in a rush. Then the lady just refused to even look at me. There was no one in line behind me and she just chose to pretend I didn't exist.
The ambience seemed nice, the coffee smelled good but I didnt get a chance to try it so can't report on that.
I've never been flat out ignored at a shop before.

I really wanted to like this place. Support an Ingenious business. They couldn’t get out of their own way. I was mocked for wearing a ribbon skirt . Eyes were rolled & called old fashioned. It’s a weird flex to talk negatively about a customer who it wanting for food & drink . When I asked why they were laughing & smirking got no response. These Indigenous person will only support kind uplifting Indigenous businesses. Not negative mocking hateful ones like Bison . Save your money & go else where

The coffee was good and the people were nice but I cannot support any place that allows racist, anti-choice politicians to advertise in their business. Whether they believe the hateful opinions of the politicians are valid, or outright support the hate, I cannot support the business.

My wife and I came here on our last day visiting Portland and it was the best coffee shop experience I had the entire time. I ordered a decaf latte with a scone and they warmed up the scone for me. Both were exactly what I had in mind that morning; both were exceptional.
The vibe there was incredible with all the indigenous inspired art and decor. It really gives the location purpose and grace. I love to see an indigenous presence anywhere in the United States. The outdoor seating is perfect and comfortable (there was even a back area I didn't get a good look at). Other customers were working on their computers and there was even a young couple practicing their dance techniques (while keeping nice and quiet).
Portland was an amazing trip and I WILL be coming back both to Portland and definitely to Bison Coffee for their warm and welcoming environment, people, and exceptional coffee and food! Thank you.

I really wanted to like this place and maybe the person working today was just having a crappy day, but I won’t be coming back. My muffin was weirdly piping hot in the center (had it been microwaved??!) tasted like it was made from boxed cake mix, and served on a plate that was greasy on the bottom. I arrived just after 3pm and she didn’t mention that they closed at 4pm. On the dot of 4pm, she called loudly across to me: “We’re closed now!” And stood there while I bussed my table and left. Weird experience. Like I said, I might have just gotten an off day because everyone else seems to love this place!

Highly recommend this Native owned business.. she honors Veterans and supports locally owned business. The service is amazing. The atmosphere is relaxing. The artwork is beautiful.
