Delicious food and cocktails. Welcoming environment. Recommend the shishito peppers, oysters, popcorn and deviled eggs!
Amazing happy hour deals. Met a friend for dozen oysters, pretzel, deviled Eggs, dirty martinis and aperol spritz all on HH menu.
Will definitely be back again.
Our classy senior friend introduced us to Blank Slate and we've since enjoyed it several times. It's a smallish spot but also intimate. Quirky decor, in a tasteful way--modern/vintage mix. Love the silent movies and their eclectic vinyl selection. The cocktails are super and the small bites on offer are creative and delicious. The bartender on our last visit was working hard but was also attentive and kindly assisted me in the need for both beverage and meal modifications due to diet restrictions.
Recommended: Deviled eggs, mac and cheese, pigs in a blanket, truffle/parm popcorn, mixed olives.
The BEST cocktails hands down! Snacks are delish - I have never had anything there I didn’t love! Super knowledge and friendly staff - beautiful ambiance and great location off the beaten path in my favorite neighborhood Montavilla !

Absolutely amazing cocktails. The server and the bartender were so nice and the happy hour food offerings were great! $2 oysters on the half shell came out beautifully and tasted great! Definitely a great place to come back to for a date or with a group of friends. Loved it.
Fantastic neighborhood bar. Great cocktails and food.
Super chill atmosphere and great service, Brendon was our lovely server, and we were blown away by our cocktails. We also loved the Miyazaki and avant garde French animated film that played while we were there.
Amazing cocktails. Some of the best I have had in Portland. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and the male bartender was amazing! Small food offerings but the Avo toast was delicious

I’m trying to figure out why I don’t come here more often. The boulevardier is perfect and I think the bartender/owner maybe missed their dj calling.

I love this place! The food is great (I dream about the popcorn and deviled eggs) and the drinks are always fantastic! They always have a cool old movie playing in the background and the staff is so welcoming and friendly.

ok we are boomers, and we like good cocktails and decided to try Blank slate, when we arrived the bar wasn't open yet ( woops on our part) but 5 minutes the bar opened for business, yeah they just opened up to waiting old folks, I get it, but being paying customers,it has been rare to us to feel so unwelcome, with the 15 minute wait on 2 cocktails in a empty bar at $16 a pop that tasted like High C and Vodka in a rocks glass. next time I'll take my full old wallet elsewhere.

My husband and I have tried many craft cocktail bars in Portland and this is a gem. It's worth getting off of the popular strips like Mississippi, stark St. Belmont, Hawthorne division and the pearl/nw 23rd areas. You won't find a better crafted cocktail and they don't skimp on anything. An absolute must for cocktails and simple but quality bites. The decor is so great too.

Went for a cocktail after Mother's Day dinner. They didn't have the makings of a drink that I went there for..a "French Martini" Chambord was not in their inventory..was bummed. So had to settle for something similar.
