I have been less than impressed with the Indian food in Portland. We ordered from here because I very specifically wanted Indian street food. The Vada Pav was delicious and the Kati Roll was great! The Tikka bowl was good and so was the paratha but the cost to get both for the portion size you get is a little outrageous. Honestly the prices in general are a bit high. It's no Dishoom but it is still one of the only Indian places I have tried so far that I would actually go back to so that's a win in my book!
Recommended dishes: Vada Pav
All time fav for Indian street food. Been here many times and the quality, taste and authenticity of the food hasn’t changed.

Ok. Not bad for a not custom prepared food outlet.

Not expected food like that..
If you’re expecting good Indian food, this probably isn’t the place for you. Flavors are blander than your generic Indian food. More Americanized fusion version of Indian food. Most of the flavor probably comes from Mint chutney. Slightly expensive for my taste. That said, it is good flavorful food, just not typical Indian flavors. Nice ambience and a good collection of memorabilia from back home.

We recently dined at Bollywood Theater and really enjoyed the food! The dishes were packed with authentic flavours. The ambiance was casual yet vibrant, and it felt like a great place to unwind over a meal. If you’re looking for a laid-back dining experience with delicious Indian street food, this place is definitely worth a visit.

The food could definitely taste better. Have tried the real flavors back in India and definitely what I ate didn’t seem to be even close. The prices are exorbitant for the quality of food.
For eg:
1. The vada pav, the filling, is supposed to be dry. Both green and red chutney are supposed to be on the side. Keep it separate. The only thing I liked about it is the green chili.
2. The pav bhaji, could have used already mixed, ready to use Bhaji pav masala available in any Indian store. It should not have been that bland. The pav(bread) was well done.
3. Kathi roll, could have just tasted more like a Kathi roll and not like a burrito or a salad wrap.
Separately, I was disappointed with the pricing for thumbs up. Under the can, it says 40Rs, which is ~50cents. Now given the logistics and all, I’d give it 1.5-2$at max, but not 3.5$.
Well, a for effort right?
Vegetarian options: Bland and overpriced
Parking: Hard to find one.

A disappointing experience! If you're looking for authentic Indian flavors, look elsewhere. But if you prefer an Americanized version of Indian cuisine, you might enjoy it. I tried the paneer tikka bowl, chicken rolls, and ginger lemonade - sadly, only the lemonade impressed me. The other dishes were bland and watered down. Not worth the money if you're craving genuine Indian flavors.

CULTURAL APPROPRIATION and DISRESPECTING HINDUISM!
Go ahead and put whatever movie posters you want on the wall, but having a picture of **God Shiva and Parvati** in the middle of movie posters is not cool. Similarly **Goddess Lakshmi** on your order placard is "NOT OKAY".. Imagine if it would have been any other religion. When I went to the restrooms, I was so confused and angry that they had a song/mantra with **Om chants** playing in the restrooms. WTH!
They have tried to make the ambience "fun" but disrespecting Hindu Gods, for that matter any religion, is where I draw the hard line..
Coming to the food, I was disappointed that most food items aren't authentic (boiled chana is not choley). Portland has many authentic and great Indian restaurants, sadly this is neither of them. I hope the management will consider being more respectful and mindful of cultural sensitivities.

Disgusting chole, below average bel, ok vada pav, tasteless mango lassi with no fresh mango in it, but awful service and nothing is truly authentic. Will never, ever return. Used to be decent, now just awful. And when we told them the chole was hard and uncooked, they offered to replace it with the same premade chole…they don’t make anything made to order. It’s all premade.

We brought our toddlers in for an early dinner and had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! The kids loved it. This place is a Portland favorite!
Vegetarian options: Paneer kati roll !!!
Parking: Street parking - depends on the day & time of day but I've never had issues
Kid-friendliness: Our kids do great here! Not sure if they have high chairs but they have booths and outside seating so we can be loud and comfortable wherever we sit.

A great twist to Indian street food, Bollywood theater really serves up delicious Indian foods. One of the best chicken curries I’ve had in a while. Their twist, it’s cooked with coconut milk, giving the curry a hint of sweetness and making the curry a bit creamier. The chicken tikka bowl was another one of my favorites. The heartiness of the rice with grilled chicken along with curry chickpeas, makes this dish a very filling meal.Of course love the decor and interiors.
