This is by far one of my new favorite spots in Portland. I happened upon it a few weeks ago and became a regular instantly.
Mark the bartender/owner was extremely welcoming and made a really good drink. He is super knowledgeable about all things alcohol and the Midwest. Knows how to tell a great story!
Rex the Mac and Cheese wizard aka Chef knows how to put a delicious plate of food together and make accommodations if needed. Try his cookies. You won’t be disappointed. 😘
Now the thing that pushes Bonne Chance above and beyond any other spot is that it somehow has created a community within a community. The moment you walk in you are welcomed not just by Mark, but also by the regulars or even others who just stopped in for a drink/bite to eat. It’s rare these days to find a place where you don’t see a single person on their phone. But, somehow this place is magic and it brings people together in conversation whether it be life long friends, lovers, family or strangers. Bonne Chance is a community and welcoming to all.

Stopped in excited to try the place—left before we could finish ordering. Hard to enjoy a wine bar when the owner is already well ahead of the customers and more interested in slinging insults than drinks. Seems like a trend...... Good luck!

Can’t speak to the food or the service for the restaurant experience, but the bar experience at night looks nice and cozy, but was ruined for me because I dared ask for a cocktail and was berated by the bar tender with longer hair who was more preoccupied with getting weed. And I was only one of four customers in the bar with two bar tenders. Bar tender with the short hair was nice and tried to gloss it over. Went to the knock back bar after one drink, had much better service and drinks. Go there instead

This is a true gem with fascinating ownership and a great vibe. Their knowledge and interest in wine is really a wonder and makes this a must-visit spot.

Good beer, good vibes during the last Thursday street festival. Lots of outdoor seating. The wine flight is worth the money.

The name might sound a little fancy, but don’t let that fool you. This is a neighborhood bar with all the charm of your favorite dive, but with 1,000x more class. They have a wine selection that will make you blush, and their cocktails are superb without being pretentious.Bonne Chance is the type of place you say you’re stopping in for one final final, but you end up staying till close because you’ve made friends for a lifetime… or at least tonight.Whether you’re the type to sit at the bar top and chat, or you’re wanting to cozy up in the corner with a date - you’ll find the seating is ample, and welcoming. If you haven’t stopped in yet, why not?

Phenomenally fun wine bar with good food. Gluten free options on many of the dishes, and normally a gluten free fryer depending on what they're making that

Probably one of the most under appreciated neighborhood bars in Portland. Great people with serious chops. Mark is a master behind the bar and James is so full of wine knowledge (and an amazing selection of wines ) he should be purple. These two brothers are full of talent and genuinely great personalities you will kick yourself for not coming in sooner.Keep an eye out for guest chefs Thursday-Saturdays putting out some seriously amazing food. All of this comes at a refreshingly honest price, do yourself a favor and head there tonight.

The atmosphere is the focus of this bar. I would recommend sticking with wine or beer, the cocktails were terrible. They have two pre batched standards at the top of the menu, ingredients listed as "secret" or some foolishness like this. If they were using quality booze they would proudly tell you what went into them. Also got the Bi-Curious George, pretty sure this was just straight frenet over ice.
