We finally checked out this lovely bar on Saturday night and I can say it is as inviting inside as it looks from the sidewalk. We've walked by a few times and heard the great music and peered in and I'm so glad we decided to step inside. The bar smelled incredible because they were making their housemade limoncello. We sat near the bar and enjoyed a nicely-made Manhattan, glass of red wine, crispy melty mozzarella sticks, and a very yummy burger and fries. Everyone was friendly and the ambience is perfect. It was dark but warm, full of plants and fun lighting. The disco rhino over the restroom door made us giggle. We will definitely return soon. 6 stars!

They have a wine selection that will make you blush, and their cocktails are superb without being pretentious.Bonne Chance is the type of place you say you’re stopping in for one final final, but you end up staying till close because you’ve made friends for a lifetime… or at least tonight.Whether you’re the type to sit at the bar top and chat, or you’re wanting to cozy up in the corner with a date - you’ll find the seating is ample, and welcoming.If you haven’t stopped in yet, why not?

Probably one of the most under appreciated neighborhood bars in Portland. Great people with serious chops. Mark is a master behind the bar and James is so full of wine knowledge (and an amazing selection of wines ) he should be purple.These two brothers are full of talent and genuinely great personalities you will kick yourself for not coming in sooner.Keep an eye out for guest chefs Thursday-Saturdays putting out some seriously amazing food. All of this comes at a refreshingly honest price, do yourself a favor and head there tonight.

The atmosphere is the focus of this bar. I would recommend sticking with wine or beer, the cocktails were terrible. They have two pre batched standards at the top of the menu, ingredients listed as "secret" or some foolishness like this. If they were using quality booze they would proudly tell you what went into them. Also got the Bi-Curious George, pretty sure this was just straight frenet over ice.

This bar was a really good experience and had great vibes. Loved the decor and the service was really nice. Everyone is very pleasant and I would definitely visit again! The staff is accommodating and the food is good bar food.

Prepandemic we enjoyed Ciao Vito and were saddened to hear of its closing. But, silver lining, bartender Mark and his brother James have created the quintessential neighborhood bar! Bonne Chance is the place on Alberta for a tasty craft cocktail or a glass of fine wine. Paired with a creative French menu Bonne Chance provides the best experience for a quick after work cocktail, an intimate date night or a group birthday party!

I am furious at how disrespectful and belligerently drunk the bartender James was here when we came here for my bachelorette party tonight. I’m so upset he was so creepy and misogynistic and made inappropriate comments towards my friends. One of my friends literally left the bar in tears from his disrespectful attitude and disgusting comments. Maybe don’t drink on the job and be get hostile with a bachelorette party for not “partying harder” before leaving and told us that he “works for God”. We will NEVER be back here and this story will definitely be told throughout my connections in the Portland area.
