We arrived at this restaurant at 7:15 PM, well within their stated operating hours, only to be utterly shocked by their conduct as closing time approached. At precisely 8:00 PM, while we were still eating, the staff literally moved our plates and forced us to finish our meal in the hotel lobby.
This is completely unacceptable and incredibly disrespectful. We understand that restaurants have closing times, but to treat paying customers in such a manner is beyond rude. There was no warning, no polite request, just a blatant disregard for our dining experience. It ruined our evening and left us feeling unwelcome and disgusted. We will certainly not be returning and advise others to be wary of their appalling service.

Two visits while staying at The Rose Hotel. Service and food was very good. The bar area has a nice quiet atmosphere. We had breakfast, both ordering vegetable omelettes. Pared with some great fried potatoes. Outstanding! Very good coffee and expresso as well. Excellent service.

Limited menu and open hours, but the bar has a low spot for a wheelchair user! Food is ok...nothing to write home about. Atmosphere is pleasant, with a fireplace and a piano.
Great location for espresso and breakfast. We've stayed at the hotel a few times and always love the coffee and breakfast offerings. Service always good... often great.
The hotel, bar, and restaurant have a warm, welcoming vibe.
Always fun to see all the morning-after club folks carbing up after a great night out. 😂
I sat right down and caught a lovely buz while people watching from their large picture windows overlooking Portland activities.
Kid-friendliness: Not catered to young children. Don't believe it opens till 4 which screams bar to me. However, the seating can be spread out or a little to help accommodate families with small children. It is the only restaurant in the hotel, so perhaps dinner is acceptable to take the little ones.

Came here for breakfast Wednesday, when the website said they would be open, but the workers there ignored us after making eye contact. They need to update their website if they don’t plan on serving during this time.
Great Service, warm atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommend seeking out this oasis in downtown

Experience was meh. It wasn't clear where we were supposed to go when we arrived as there were no staff around to greet us. When someone did finally show up, she just told us to “find somewhere” as she breezed by us. Drink options were good and yummy, but food wasn't anything special, especially for the price. Waiter showed no interest in helping after they took our order. We had to flag them down to order more drinks and refill water. Doubtful we will return.
The food was outstanding, honestly some of the best food i've ever eaten. All the servers were very nice and had very good customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant & hotel to anyone visiting Portland. I know I will definitely be returning.

My boyfriend and I shared the pineapple teriyaki wings, which were SO good. 5 stars for them! I had the filet which was good (4 stars--could've been seasoned more; don't think it was seasoned at all) and the mashed potatoes and crispy carrots that came with it were delicious. My boyfriend had the salmon and risotto, both of which he loved. Waiter was pleasant enough.

We had to get our server's attention multiple times to order, ask for the check, and ask for refills. It was not busy. Food arrived not as described on menu, ie risotto appeared to be plain white rice, chop salad was not chopped but rather large pieces of green and veggies heavily dressed and didn't have several of the ingredients listed. We would have spoken to staff about it but couldn't get their attention. Very mediocre/not worth the $150 spent.
We knew upon entering, we probably should've just left, but had never been so we wanted to try it. Zero service had to flag someone down from the bar area. Two people that were being so loud and drunk really ruined the ambience. We ordered iced tea, and it came in the tiniest glass with no ice and tasted like dirty water. Ordered the Alfredo which came with the hardest chunks of carrots and cauliflower I have ever seen. They were basically raw just covered in sauce. There was 75 pounds of sauce and four noodles. It was not warm at all. We also got the hanger steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We got a very rubbery piece of meat with zero flavor. Mashed potatoes were OK. And broccoli. we basically had about three bites of each plate and I went up to Pay. No one asked us anything no one bothered with us. Definitely won't return. I truly don't understand the reviews online. I really really don't.
