Friendly cafe with excellent homemade breakfast options. We had the spinach pie and lattes. We sat in the outdoor patio - quiet lovely space.

Not the best breakfast cafe, not the worst. Food price was way too high for the quality and quantity of the food.

We ordered grilled cheese, biscuits & gravy, and a smoothie. Both food items came out lukewarm and quite small portions. The smoothie was watery and lacked flavor. Overall mid quality-wise.

The cafe itself has nothing interesting to note about it. It looks like every other modern cafe. The outdoor seating was nice but again, it had no personality to speak of. It was clean and quiet? That’s it.

With the surplus of breakfast/brunch options in this area, it’s not worth a return for us.

Bread & Honey Cafe is a hidden gem that has taken the local dining scene by storm! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a cozy, rustic atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The decor is charming, with warm wooden accents and inviting seating that encourages you to linger a little longer.

The star of the show, of course, is the food. Known for its artisanal breads and delectable honey-infused treats, this cafe offers a menu that is both comforting and innovative. Their freshly baked bread is simply divine, with a perfect crust and soft, fluffy interior that pairs beautifully with their house-made spreads. Don’t miss out on their signature honey drizzles—using local honey, it adds a unique twist to every dish!

The coffee selection is equally impressive, featuring locally roasted beans that are brewed to perfection. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or a creative seasonal latte, the skilled baristas here know how to craft the perfect cup.

What truly sets Bread & Honey Cafe apart is its sense of community. Regular events like open mic nights and art showcases bring people together, making it a lively hub for creativity and connection. The friendly staff and welcoming vibe make every visit feel like catching up with old friends.

If you're in search of a delightful spot to enjoy delicious food, great coffee, and a warm community atmosphere, Bread & Honey Cafe is a must-visit. Once you experience it, you’ll be coming back for more!

Best cafe I’ve been to in Portland. All the food I’ve tried is great and the staff is pleasant. Mo clearly loves what he does and takes the time to get to know the customers. I’m from the South originally and this place has the best biscuits and gravy in Portland and definitely ranks top five I’ve had anywhere. Good coffee, good espresso, great food and a nice vibe. Coming here has become a weekend ritual I always look forward to and always hits the spot.

I recently discovered Bread and Honey and I liked it so much I dragged my wife there and she loved it, too. We've had both sweet and savory pastries: the empenada and chicken pot pie stand out. Coffee's good, too.

Fantastic high quality breakfast sandwiches, empanadas and other great pastries all made in house! The only thing I could mention is the price is a touch expensive but the quality is top top notch! Mo is super great as well!

I love bread! And honey!
I was so excited when I saw this little café named bread and honey .
There was no fresh bread on the menu nor any honey options !
I went to the counter. It’s counter service. You have to wait for your order and you have to pick up your own order and get your own utensils, etc..
I ordered the biscuits and gravy and milk with the 20% tip. It was over $20.
It was two biscuits and a small glass of milk and the only options for tipping were 20, 25 and 30%

There was no line I walked up to the counter no smile no hello no friendliness whatsoever. I place my order for biscuits and gravy and she said you can stand over there and I’ll put it on the counter when it’s ready . I watched her get two cold biscuits out of the refrigerator that were wrapped in cellophane and put them in a microwave. Then she poured my milk and put it on the counter in a holding spot as I stood there and waited. I got the whole order of biscuits and gravy, so it was too small very flat biscuits. After they came out of the microwave, she separated them and put them on a Panini grill. They were in there for a couple of minutes or so, and then she proceeded to spoon on gravy, from a warmer, but what it was more like a soup with very very little sausage on it. She placed it on the counter and slid over to the counter. I picked it up and my glass of milk, got the utensils and napkin and then went to my table . I sat down to eat, the soupy gravy wasn’t that warm and I had a difficult time eating biscuits (dry) and gravy with a fork. I ended up getting more of it in my lap because it would just fall through the fork. It was very very very thin like soup. The biscuits shattered as you put the fork through them crumbling into lots of small pieces.

I don’t normally salt my food before I taste it, but I do put pepper on my gravy without tasting it cause I like pepper and there was no hot sauce options I asked for hot sauce and they didn’t have any . Which is fine. I don’t always put Tabasco or hot sauce on my gravy, but this gravy was as bland is bland can be. I ended up putting salt on it and then I had to put more salt on it and more salt the biscuits had no flavor. There was no salt in the biscuits. I’m pretty sensitive to salt And I don’t ever typically salt any of my food, but this was absolutely the worst biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had.
It was sad. I was really sad. I was really excited to see the name of the restaurant bread and honey.
It made me think of times when my grandma would make homemade bread coming out of the oven and drizzling honey on it I mean, that’s kind of what I was expecting. There was no ovens in here. The bread wasn’t fresh. Everything was microwaved and had a Panini grill.
I used to have a catering business that we specialize in concession stands and we got our country sausage gravy out of a can, we did. This wasn’t even half the quality of the canned gravy we used to serve.
Highly highly disappointed will never come back . And not a friendly atmosphere. The only reason for one stars is because it doesn’t give me the option to give zero stars or minus stars.
The place is cute. It’s got a great vibe.
Staff wasn’t happy and it wasn’t super early. It was 10 o’clock and it wasn’t busy no reason for the unpleasantness. I hope the owner reads this and maybe changes things up!!!!!
Great concept ! Terrible, terrible terrible execution!
