This was my first time here. I came just to eat their 2025 Portland Sandwich Week sandwich called the Dip City! For only $10, they sure packed it with a lot of meat, but the gravy they served with it was strange. Looked like and had the consistency of bearing grease. I was amazed by the speed that they served the sandwich. Was like 3 minutes

Used the online Toast POS to make a togo order. Was a seamless operation. Went to pick my food up. Employees were really kind and helpful. Bought the White Tea Lager. Delicious. The food was excellent. Service was fantastic.
Justin got the Pastrami Reuben & the Bavarian Sausage Plate. I got a Pretzel with extra cheese & the Blackened Chicken Sandwich. It was so deliciously charred. Exactly what I wanted. Stellar, crispy, spicy, and they gave me the extra tomatoes I asked for.
No one ever gives me the extra tomatoes. They were middle tomatoes too y'all, no ends!
Top tier 4x4 red tomato quality.
The bacon was crispy and the perfect amount. I added their blue cheese sauce to it! Stellar!
I don't have any pictures bc I ate it as soon as I got home. Was phenomenal. 10 out of 10.

The food, beer, people and atmosphere are great however... Ordering through a phone ultimately is just a chore. Passing the phone around, watching older generations struggle and get lost in the site. Uugh. Just not fun. Can't do it anymore.

Literally love Breakside. They are award winning for a reason; we're so lucky to have some of the best beer in the country right in our backyard! On top of that, we love the staff at Dekum and have never eaten a bad thing either. If you're reading reviews trying to decide if you should go - you should! Why haven't you already?!
Only bummer is they close fairly early, but that is very 'Portland' these days.

Breakside Dekum used to be great, but no longer. I ate here on Tuesday with my family and they were out of two of their three IPA’s! And they still have COVID era QR code no-human service. When my (only available) IPA was delivered, the server seemed incredulous that they were out of the other two IPA’s (as indicated online) and told me they would be back to clarify, then never returned. Then my son’s hamburger cost $24 ($14 base + $3 for bacon + $7 for fries = $24!). Too bad Breakside is joining in the rapid descent of so many other previously great Portland brewpubs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A basic cheeseburger is $14 with no side? Roughly $20 with a side of fries? This is the definition of fleecing your guests. Burgers are suppose to come with a side, period. Especially when charging that amount. As for the service, I came in and sat at a table in the bar. Not a single employee recognized I'd been sitting there for 10 minutes. I thought the lack of food or drink would have been enough of a sign. I ended up waking out and going to the pizza joint next store. Pretty mediocre experience to say the least. I can't say that I will be returning.

Qr codes suck
Parking: Parking very difficult, we had to park a quarter mile away and walk. My mother has hip problems so parking farther away can be a problem

Our waiter was amazing. Extremely attentive. Got the healthy plate with quinoa. Added black beans and blackened chicken. It was PERFECT!

Once a week. That is the MINIMUM that my wife and I have been here since moving to the neighborhood over ⁹ years ago. The beer is excellent, the food is great, and the service is always top notch.

Good stuff overall! I did not care for their White, however. Tasted like band aids and medicine. Prob just nit my kind of beer but everything else is awesome.

Really great beer and staff! It’s a relaxed neighborhood spot with a good vibe. The kitchen and wait staff are so cool, especially Carly! We have nut and seed free little one and they went out of their way to make us something safe to eat for her even though most, if not all of their food is pretty safe all ready. Will definitely be coming back. Great spot!

Food was solid but not the"wow" I remember from past trips. Our family also collectively despises being coerced to order from a phone instead of a person. Takes forever to check out and really challenging to do when wrangling impatient children. Not a way to build a relationship with customers. Helles was excellent so at least someone still knows how to make beer here. We'll definitely try something new next time.

Breakside is within walking distance of our home and we have been customers since they opened 14 years ago. I am thrilled for their success and I think they make great beer. The service is always great too. My only complaint is about their kids meals, and it truly prevents us from eating there far more frequently. My daughter is now 11 but we have had issues with the portion size of their pasta for kids since she was 5 or so. It is really not enough for a decent meal for a child! Pasta is so cheap and we order it with butter and Parmesan, so I don't really understand why they are so stingy with it. I had to order her a second plate last night because of how small the pasta portion was. For $16 I could feed her pasta for a week! I really wish they would reconsider this policy, as I feel that their adult meals are generous sizes. We always spend a lot of money here and I think we would eat here more often if I felt like she could get a decent kids meal.
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome but the kids meals are skimpy.

Been here a couple times and I am consistently pleased with the service, value and quality. I’ve drank break side beers for a long time. Coming into their establishment it is so light and airy and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and the environment is lofty, airy and bright. Their beer fails to disappoint and each time I’ve come in the food is a great balance of pub food and class. Their waffle fries are so nicely crisp on the outside with that smooth, mashed potato feel inside. The cubano was wonderful. Hard crust with soft, fall apart pork and crunchy house pickles with chipotle mayo for that subtle smoky heat. My partner ordered the beer and burger special and even a simple burger with a couple little add on was cooked well and seasoned properly. I sure do enjoy coming here.
