What's cooler than an all vegan bar?! The Bye and Bye is a Portland staple with a hint of 2010's hipster vibe. Ample indoor seating and a ton of outdoor seating in both their back and front patios, most of which is covered and heated. Awesome spot for large gatherings! Extensive drink menu along with n/a options that are well priced. My only gripe is the food. It's not typical bar food as their are few burgers and lots of bowls, however the bowls aren't typical "healthy" bowls. Nothing on the menu has ever been great to me, always a bit lacking. Most people seem to enjoy the food, so it must be a me issue. If you haven't been here, absolutely give The Bye and Bye a try!

Pretty much one of the most garbage restaurant/bars I’ve had the displeasure of eating at. The burger lazily came with potato chips, the bun super dry and the Beyond patty very gooey, as if microwaved to order. The decor is pretty god awful too. Alcohol tastes good but can’t really mess that up.

I debated leaving this review because I really only enjoy writing positive reviews, particularly in support of local establishments. This place should be amazing. We go here often because my husband is vegan and we are in love with attending Wed trivia with a group of friends. The last time we were all in together two of the group members went to order drinks and came back quite a long time later, empty handed. They told us that the bartender was quite rude during initial ordering and they finally gave up on ordering this second round after being passed over repeatedly, they were quite upset. Having been a bartender myself for many years I actually defended the bar staff, noting that it was busy and it was likely nothing personal or intentional, just an oversight. My friends kindly disagreed. Our drink-less night continued.

Fast forward to last weekend, when I am in there ordering for myself, with a different group of friends. The bartender was so unnecessarily rude to me, with zero provocation (unless saying “May I please order the
” is somehow antagonistic) - I was actually shocked enough to spend my time writing this right now. I would just like to say, it doesn’t matter how great some outdoor seating is, or how wonderful it is to have access to a vegan menu
if staff are treating you like you are nothing but an annoyance and inconvenience, it ruins the taste of everything. Portland has a million wonderful local options for places to eat, drink and socialize, I don’t consider it a competitive edge having staff that are still embracing the over-played arrogant bartender persona. Super disappointed to have to find somewhere else for the group to go.

It's better to order on the phone because ordering in person is kind of awkward since it's set up as a bar. However if you want to get a drink from a variety of local brews feel free to go in person. Food is pretty good with a bunch of vegan/vegetarian options. I definitely recommend.

Visited Portland for the first time in seven years, I had to see if my old flame—Bye & Bye—still had the spark. Spoiler: it does.

Visit #1 was brunch, where we demolished a breakfast sammie, hazelnut French toast, and a couple of spicy Bloody Marys. The food? Absolute knockouts. The drinks? Let’s just say they were
 present.

Before skipping town, we swung by for one last fling—this time to-go. The BBQ tofu platter was every bit as dreamy as I remembered, and my partner’s burger apparently made him reconsider the meaning of “excellent.”

Verdict: Turns out this place isn’t just a rose-tinted memory from my twenties—it’s still the real deal.

Great vibes. We were passing through (last meal before catching a flight). I got the meatball sub and my vegan AF wife got the peanut broccoli bowl. The sub fell apart a little but was otherwise good (Beyond meatballs). The bowl was reported to be “10 out of 10, would eat again.” Service fine.

Love coming here every time I’m in Portland. Lovely humans and great food and drinks. The bowls are perfect! Wish we had an equivalent in the UK!
