The special pasta with fresh corn, peas and scallops was outstanding. The caprese salad with real heirloom tomatoes and stracciatella was perfect. Maddie provided terrific service.

Great food as always, excellent service. Always a pleasure to eat my “go to” entree of penne al sugo di carne. My niece had the “special of the day” pasta dish with seared scallops and corn in a cream sauce that was delicious as well .

It’s been a while since I’ve been back to Cafe Mingo, and wow she’s aged well! Our service (we sat at the bar) was impeccable and the food even better. Every dish was perfection, from the oysters, to the pasta, lamb, and delectable olive oil cake. I won’t stay away for long again.

We were so excited to go here and try the pizza only to be told they are out of dough. Saturday night peak dinner hour and half the menu which is pizza is not available. (Strike 1) Poor restaurant planning for sure. I Wish that would have been communicated before we sat down and ordered drinks (Strike 2 poor communication). We only found out once our drinks arrived and we ordered a pizza. Food was really good (pork chop special and bolognese); but a bit pricey for the portion sizes. The bolognese was drowning the pasta but it was tasty. We shared a Caesar salad which was legit 3 bites each. When we told our server we were sharing, it would have been nice to be told “they are small”. (Strike 3). We Would have liked some bread while we waited; but our waitress was more concerned with the large table next to us and boxing up their food. (Strike 4) Service was subpar at best as we had to chase our server down to ask for refills which we were also charged for ridiculously enough. Ice tea and soft drinks typically are refilled complimentary in most places (Strike 5). We opted to skip dessert because we were just disappointed and wishing we went back to the neighboring establishment which is my opinion was a better experience. .Could have been a much different experience if there was any attempt at all to save the night or at least recognize we were the little table in the corner next to the bathroom (Strike 6). No one should hear a toilet flush at their table In a dining establishment .

Finally made it to Cafe Mingo. The place is certainly much smaller than the pictures posted. Of course the size of the place does not matter. It’s all about the food!!!! The portion size looked small but was just right.
Lots of vegetarian choices and
Vegetarian options: Just ask and they will highlight all dishes that can be made made vegetarian and/or are vegetarian
Parking: After dinner we realized that there was a parking lot right behind the restaurant. Instead we struggled and parked on the road.
Kid-friendliness: We did see little kids at the restaurant.

Food, cocktail and wine selection, service were all excellent! The food was beautifully balanced and the evening specials were a great addition to the current dinner menu. The ambiance of the environment was lively, welcoming, and upscale without pretentiousness. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and professional, and we appreciated our server's pairings and suggestions. Looking forward to our return!
