My son and daughter in law chose this venue for the reception following their wedding. We had a group of less than 20 people in the private dining room. Fantastic experience. Everyone at the restaurant was helpful on coordinating setup prior to the event. The appetizers, cocktails, entrees and desserts all received rave reviews from the wedding guests. Service was on point and we were extremely pleased with everything. Highly recommended for a small group gathering space (the private room is the perfect size for a group of 20). We will dine here again during our next trip to Portland.

I do not recommend this place because the manger was too much because she was bossy and anxious and nervous she micro managed us and her staff, after work for our valentines day thats the only time i wanted to be relax and not having manager and enjoy our romance and date night , the server checking us too much and harnessing us with our privacy and space i feel bad for her because her manger push her to do that and makes us uncomfortable. the cocktails not was special as the price we never back there. I never tried food there but definitely worse customer service i wish we chose better spot for our valentine night. This insane!!! i never heard that before. my partner wanted sit next to me instead of front table, the server said her manger doesn’t allow us to do that. My partner should back to his sit. Really snobby place makes you uncomfortable. Dont go there and waste your money you been pissed.

Rare place that...has fantastic Mediterranean food and is a super-fun, energetic-night-clubby atmosphere. Everything is done well, and the cocktails and wine are amazing.

Food was delicious. My only complaint is I ordered a steak medium rare and it was pretty much well done. It was then chewy and not what I was looking for. Brussels, goat cheese ravioli and steak bites were delicious as was the pepperoni pizza with tons of pepperoni. Service was good and atmosphere was lovely. Next time, I will speak up about my steak.

I don’t think my photos do this place justice. Some of the best food we have had in a while. Pasta malfatti was our favorite as we are spice lovers. Service was great too.

We visited on a Sunday evening around 5pm. The restaurant was not very crowded and we enjoyed great service. The food was excellent. Our family loves burgers and we have tried many establishments. Their burger is really good. The meat is ground in house and is very lean. It had good flavor and came with a serving of very crispy French Fries. The burger also has bacon and onion rings, too. It may be one of the best we've had in Portland. If you visit during their Social Hour, 4:30pm - 5:30pm, the burger is $16.50 ($3 off) Caesar salad with salmon was delicious. The salmon was seared and crispy on the outside. We liked that their salad included anchovies, which is not often served at many restaurants. We were a little surprised by the price, however. The menu stated that the Caesar salad was $16. We thought the salad including salmon was $20. It wasn't until we got home to write this review that we realized that the salad with salmon was an additional $20, which is $36. It was a good salad. But for the price, we would have preferred two burgers. The margherita pizza was excellent. It had a very crispy crust. During Social Hour, it's $16.50. We also tried three appetizers that were all very good: the Steak Bites, the Piri Piri Shrimp and the Mussels. During our visit, we had a chance to speak with their chef, Michael. He was really friendly. We found that he also loves good burgers. We plan on going back to Carina's. Five Stars!

This place. The charm. The cocktails. The food. The service. We have been going to Carina since it was Basta's, and always love going there for a consistently delicious experience. Last night was extra special. After a decidedly disappointing experience in another restaurant (see my review for Punchbowl Social) we needed a birthday Hail Mary.... Where can we possibly seat 8 on a Friday night for an emergency restaurant rescue? I called Carina. They came through with flying colors. Birthday saved!! I love a locally owned establishment that gets customer service. Now for the cocktails: their version of the espresso martini was delicious, as was their whiskey ginger drink. House wine was very drinkable. Appetizers: Meatballs are money. Red sauce is authentic and rich. The house focaccia with pesto was fantastic. The mussels in red sauce and grilled bread was on point, and the sauce was sopped up fervently with the aforementioned focaccia. Brussels with pancetta were delicious, and the steak tips were perfectly seared and tasty. The margarita pizza was perfect...crisp crust and Lucious combo of tomato sauce, cheese and basil. But the showstopper and perineal favorite for me is the goat cheese ravioli. The pasta is so delicate, and when paired with the crispy shallots and brown butter..., easily one of my favorite dishes here. When they have Uncle Vitorio's pasta on the menu: order it, and thank me later It was a staple of the original Basta's menu, and it has been known to make a guest appearance. And finally: snaps and claps for a team that was on their A-game last night and saved my daughter's birthday.

This has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is fab - some highlights have been the brussels sprouts, meatballs, and the Soppressata pizza. However, the goat cheese ravioli is truly one of my favorite restaurant dishes. Definitely a must try. The ambiance is great and the staff are really kind.

When we discovered this gem of a restaurant, we knew we had found 'our place'. Carina gets everything right with a menu of inspired cocktails, crusty bread, olive oil, incredible Caesar, steak bites with spicy aioli, all in a bustling cozy atmosphere with diners who share our secret!

A Portland institution. Get the mussels and pork with the sauce. Amazing. The goat cheese ravioli are just about the best thing I have ever tasted. Must go to if visiting from out of town.

Despite a good experience, I got food poisoning and missed work as a result. I had been waiting all day for a good dining experience for our anniversary.I reached out to the restaurant online and received no response or apology. I suppose you should always be careful anytime after Thanksgiving, even resturants use their left overs a little too long. ?Edit: Thank you for your response. I know you guys to be a great place hence my anticipation. Not sure what happen, I am generally not sensitive to many foods and rarely become ill as a result. This will come down in a month. You have heard my concerns. Thanks.

Carina is the best! From excellent, attentive staff to homemade pasta and expertly crafted cocktails— you can’t go wrong! Our favorite local restaurant.Parking: Don’t forget about the free parking lot behind the restaurant. A great perk in a neighborhood where it’s usually hard to find parking.
