**THIS REVIEW IS LONG OVERDUE ** I visited Carlita’s today (on a Saturday) , and it wasn’t my first time dining here—I’ve had the pleasure of being helped before by one of the best servers I’ve encountered: Hayley. The food is consistently outstanding, but Hayley truly elevates the entire experience.
Every time I’ve seen her working, she appears to be one of the few people covering the floor, and today she was clearly handling everything solo. The restaurant was nearly full—both inside and out—and I watched her literally running at times to keep up, all while providing exceptional service.
Despite what had to be an incredibly stressful situation, she took amazing care of our group and made our out-of-town guest—visiting Portland for the first time from overseas—feel completely welcome and delighted be the entire experience. Hayley is a total rockstar. Thank you for your kindness, hustle, and positivity. We’re grateful for yet another positive experience.

I’ve been coming to Carlita’s regularly, and one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is Hailey. She’s absolutely amazing—always juggling so many tables and still managing to be incredibly sweet, attentive, and welcoming every single time. No matter how busy it gets, she handles everything with a genuine smile and such grace. Hailey truly goes above and beyond, and she makes the whole experience at Carlita’s feel warm and personal. She’s a star, and we’re always happy to see her when we visit!

I thoroughly enjoyed a yummy dinner on Taco Tuesday. What a bargain, 14.95 for 4 delicious tacos. Great atmosphere, friendly service and the best Tacos.
The food (Carlita’s Skillet in particular) is very good and consistent. There’s not a lot of great Mexican food in NW Portland so this is a great spot if you’re in the area. The waitresses are always very friendly.

After a terrible experience at a popular instagram-worthy lounge, I scanned google for nearby food and drinks to reconcile the failed outing. Carlita’s popped up, so we decided to take the chance. I am so immensely happy we did. We walked in and were immediately greeted by friendly staff, seated and given water. The atmosphere was so calm. Service was quick. Drinks were so good! Sweet and strong. The food was immaculate. The pork belly taco I had was so good, I ordered more to take home to my family because I was afraid they wouldn’t believe I had THE best taco I’ve ever had. My father who’s from Southern California (and knows a good taco) was drooling! Just an amazing experience all around.
My only suggestion would be louder music, at times it was extremely quiet!
Trendy little mexican inspired restuarant in Portland's pearl district. Their menu is not extensive and you cannot order sides of rice here. The food that is served here is pretty good. The drinks are good too. This is the perfect place for a margarita flight. I went during the week and it was not busy. Im sure its busy on the weekends
