A friendly, relaxing and delicious gem hidden on a busy street. I've driven by countless times and had no idea what I'd find going in the front doors here -- in particular the air and plant-filled back patio. Really enjoyed the pisco sour, empanadas, beet salad and arroz chaufa.

This restaurant is ranked number one for a reason, hands-down one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life. My family has owned restaurants in Chicago and in California Italian restaurants we know how to cook we know good food and this is absolute perfection and every single bite. I highly recommend you give this place a try you will not be disappointed. I will be back several times a month.

It was my partner and I's first time at Casa Zoraya tonight.

Everything was INCREDIBLE.

We trusted our server and told her that we trusted her and for her to send out what she thought was best.

We had the chicken empanadas, the beer salad w/burrata, the ceviche, and the lomo saltado.

All the flavors worked in perfect harmony. I loved all the different textures in the ceviche.

Then we had 2 desserts (the panna cotta and the alfajores.)

10/10. Will definitely return!

Big thank you to Gary the chef and our server!

Have been meaning to come here for years after passing by it on Lombard all the time. Finally made it in the other night and WOW - all four of us were blown away.

Each dish was just phenomenal, bursting with flavor, and so creatively presented. So many highlights but the Arroz con Mariscos and the ceviche of the day had everybody obnoxiously oohing and ahhing for the first several bites. We also loved the veggie empanadas, and the sweet potato donut dessert was ridiculously good.

Couple all of this with truly charming service and what might be the cutest back patio in Portland and we’ve got a place that I’ll be returning to for years to come. My only regret is waiting so long to try this spot!

Food was under seasoned, sadly, with all of the food i tried. The lomo saltado was pretty spot on!

Simply the best. Bartender crushes it. Chefs crush it. Servers crushing it. I could eat those chicken empanadas every day. This place rules.

Disappointing experience at a restaurant that claims to be Peruvian, but really isn’t.

We went during the winter to celebrate a friend’s birthday. As Peruvians, we were excited to enjoy food from home, but we left very disappointed.

From the start, the prices were high for the portions served, but we decided to treat ourselves since it was a special occasion. We were planning a surprise, so we spoke ahead of time with the main waitress, she was American, but we managed to communicate , and asked her to bring out a cake and a piñata we had brought after the food was served.

When the food began arriving, I got up to remind them about the surprise. They were getting ready, which gave me some relief. I then asked if they could play the traditional birthday song, and this is where the cultural differences became clear. Not a single waitress was Peruvian in a supposedly Peruvian restaurant. They played a random song that didn’t fit the occasion. I politely asked if they could switch it to the traditional birthday song, and was told, “We have tables to attend.” I then asked if they could at least sing “Happy Birthday” with me, and the answer was, “We don’t sing.” So I ended up walking in alone, singing by myself.

My friend enjoyed the surprise, and we tried to have a good time afterwards, until the food arrived. I ordered ceviche, anticuchos, and a pisco sour. The only thing that tasted authentically Peruvian was the pisco sour. The anticuchos tasted odd, and the ceviche was terrible, it looked like chicken and tasted like it had been stored too long. My friend had the lomo saltado, which was okay at best.

To top it all off, they automatically added a 10% tip to the bill, even though the service was cold, impersonal, and lacked care. Honestly, we felt scammed. We came hoping for an authentic Peruvian experience, but the only Peruvian part was the owner, and he wasn’t even there.

My wife and I had a lovely dinner 7/12/25. We were seated quickly even though we did not have a reservation. The drinks (Batista Motada) and meal were delicious (I had the steak). And we were well-served by the delightful, knowledgeable and clever Mary Rose.

Cool environment, good service, though simply put the quantity of food served didn't match my dollars spent, and none of the dishes blew me away in quality to justify that.

WOW the food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the lomo saltado ($29). I loved it! I didn’t drink but the cocktails looked amazing too.
