Really tasty food! The bruschetta was a highlight — super fresh and flavorful. Burger and fries were solid too. It was pretty quiet in the dining room late at night, which felt a bit odd, but the bar still had people. A bit dark inside for my taste, but overall, I’d definitely go back.

This hidden gem rivals any restaurant in Portland! The staff is personable and attentive, the food surprisingly belongs on a gourmet list, and unlike every restaurant in Portland they're actually open with a full menu long past 10pm. Always check the specials, because the short rib risotto was luxurious!

Cassidy's is always sure to please. It is a regular stop for dinner whenever I come to Portland. The food is amazing every time, and I've tried over half the menu now. The servers and bartenders are always very friendly and will pair you a great drink with your meal.

As much as I wanted to enjoy this Portland Institution, it was the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. We should have known when we were the only customers at 8PM on a Friday night. The server was kind, but it really couldn’t make up for failure after failure. We waited at least an hour for what tasted like microwaved meals. $100 + tip for two is typical for Portland, but signing this check was an absolute heartbreaker.

How strange, I experienced the same misfortune as a previous reviewer did going solo here. I was treated with absolutely no respect by the “bartender” 7/10/2025 845pm. Management might want to keep an eye on this clown, I left before ordering as obviously he didn’t want to do his job. Don’t go here solo, actually, don’t go at all.

Restaurantji Recommends
There were 6 of us at dinner there the last week of June, 2025. We were visiting Portland for the first time.
The atmosphere was so pleasant, with beautiful historic details inside; the food was incredible & our waiter, Ryan, was very knowledgeable & so friendly.
I recommend this to anyone visiting.

This restaurant has been around for many years and may have its best years behind it. Very few people were getting dinner or drinks on a Saturday night, and we were not impressed with the food. The grilled cheese was not great, but the soup it was served with was good. I got a pork shoulder, which was cooked well but the polenta it was served with absorbed all the salty liquid and was not pleasant.

Very good food! The bruschetta was absolutely amazing and the burger and fries were pretty good. The atmosphere was a little too dark for me, and I was the only person in the dining area late at night (there were people in the bar though), so it was a little awkward sitting there. Would recommend!
I would not recommend going there if you’re by yourself… They’ll treat you like a criminal…. Overpriced mediocre food with no flavor whatsoever… I couldn’t even finish it….
