Our experience was great. We were celebrating a birthday and were seated by the window with great views. The food was very good. Our only complaint was a table of 8 men that were seated very near us.They became very loud which was very distracting .

Made a reservation for 4:30pm on a Saturday. Was seated at the window, absolutely gorgeous view of Mt Hood and the moon once it came out. The background music was a little loud for the number of people in the restaurant at the time. Had the Coconut Crunchy Shrimp as an appetizer; absolutely delectable. The sauces complimented the crunchy batter with HUGE shrimp that were juicy. The Moscato Sangria was the perfect freshness without being overly sweet. The Caesar salad was a perfect size and the Parmesan bowl was clever and delicious. (Had some of another diner's). Chose the Chart Your Course with the Bronzed Salmon and Crab. The salmon was so fresh and melted in your mouth combined with the crab and tomato relish. I almost chose the linguine but have absolutely no regrets about my decision. Chris was an absolute perfection as a server; knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. Cannot recommend this place enough. Definitely on the spendy side but absolutely justified.

Our server was great and explained all the daily specials and was very attentive. The birthday celebration was wonderful and the birthday dessert delicious.

A wonderful experience of food, service, and ambiance. Our server was a delight from the start, keenly aware of why we chose the Chart House to celebrate a birthday and a "date night", a perfect balance of checking in with us at just the right time but not too much or too often. She listened to our questions and made thoughtful and candid recommendations. The food was excellently prepared, well-seasoned, and delicious. At the end, she presented us with a complimentary dessert to punctuate our celebration, and it made the whole experience feel special.

Our waitperson seemed unable to understand he was supposed to open the bottles of wine we brought with us. He did place them in wine coolers and never opened them until I tracked another person down to open them and pour for my 8 guests. I had to chase down another person to order off the menu. We waited what seemed like an extraordinary time before commencing our meal. I was hosting this midday meal and was so disappointed in the service . The chart House has always been my restaurant of choice when I entertain out of town guests. I remain disappointed.

Our server Tim was excellent great service. Food was prepared as requested and all very good. The restaurant was exceptionally loud which would be my only complaint

The attraction of the chart house is the view. It is outstanding. The salmon we ordered was good. The lobster bisque was thin, but flavorful. Not much lobster though. We ordered a 10 ounce prime rib and asked that to be pink all the way through. It came and was well done. It wasn't particularly flavorful. The service was very good and on point. Come for the view not necessarily for the food.

It was such a lovely NYE day that my friend and I decided to have lunch at the Chart House and enjoy the spectacular view. Sadly, when we arrived at the Chart House shortly after 1:00, we were told that they had decided to cut off lunch service early and to start their $81 dinner menu. Unfortunately, the restaurant seemed to have some problems living up to their standard of excellence. The clam chowder tasted like a cream soup. The bread that accompanied the soup arrived just as we were finishing the soup. The lobster entree was accompanied by limp vegetables. The dessert tasted like it had been sourced at my local grocery store. And, to top of this visit to the Chart House, the service was sloppy and regrettable. Nonetheless, the view over the city and to the mountains was amazing!

Outstanding views from our table of the greater Eastern Portland area from Mt St Helens to Mt Hood and the Willamette river. Everyone commented that the food was delicious: king salmon, salmon topped with Dungeness crab, the Whaler sandwich, the avocado and bacon burger, & the coconut crusted shrimp. The hits were the shrimp, avocado and mango stack, the lava cakes, and the special tea drinks. You would expect this restaurant to be a more expensive than others but both the dinner and lunch menus had some combinations at reasonable prices. However, I was somewhat disappointed that the service was extremely slow and our waitress could have been more attentive.

We first enjoyed a meal at the Chart house approximately a month ago, when a friend visited from across the world and we were looking for an especially nice view. Everything was terrific that day -- the food and service were outstanding. We had oysters, soup, salad, and a main course. It was a wonderful luncheon. Fast forward to today and we had an entirely different experience. We hosted a different friend for a lunch reservation at 12:45. Our server was kind and professional in her interactions with us. She took our orders and served the drinks and salad/soup course in a timely manner. But the time between our salad/soup course and main course was close to 90 minutes. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing on top of the very long wait. We are not likely going to return. It's sad because it seemed so very different from our previous experience. And the two-hour lunch time was not something we expected.
