We first enjoyed a meal at the Chart house approximately a month ago, when a friend visited from across the world and we were looking for an especially nice view. Everything was terrific that day -- the food and service were outstanding. We had oysters, soup, salad, and a main course. It was a wonderful luncheon. Fast forward to today and we had an entirely different experience. We hosted a different friend for a lunch reservation at 12:45. Our server was kind and professional in her interactions with us. She took our orders and served the drinks and salad/soup course in a timely manner. But the time between our salad/soup course and main course was close to 90 minutes. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing on top of the very long wait. We are not likely going to return. It's sad because it seemed so very different from our previous experience. And the two-hour lunch time was not something we expected.

The Chart House in Portland is consistently an incredible experience every single time we visit. The food is always excellent, from the seafood to the steaks, and the quality never wavers. Every dish is prepared with care, beautifully presented, and reliably delicious, which is something you truly come to appreciate over repeat visits. The service is wonderful, attentive, professional, and warm without ever feeling intrusive. On top of that, the views are absolutely phenomenal and make the entire dining experience feel special and memorable, whether it is day or night. It is the kind of place you trust for celebrations, date nights, or simply a great meal, knowing you will leave happy every time.

This was really enjoyable. We went for Thanksgiving and I had one of the best desserts in my entire life there. It was a butter cake with caramel sauce and ice cream- unreal! I just loved everything about it.
The whole dining experience was great too. I would definitely go back again. We look forward to celebrating another special occasion there again sometime in the future.

The place is absolutely beautiful. We went to grab dinner and the views were stunning. Food on the other hand is lacking. It wasn’t necessarily bad but you would think that a place light that serves the best food in Portland. Will I be back probably

We sat at a table attended by Logan. He made eye contact several times just to check in above and beyond doing a stellar job. The food and the view were above average, but the service is what sets this place apart.

Evidently the restaurant was understaffed for the night before Thanksgiving. There were no bus staff in our part of the restaurant. The waiter was attempting to keep glasses, full of water and dishes, sat in front of people in our party for at least 20 minutes after the food was consumed. The soup was served slightly warmed and not hot. Dessert was served about 45 minutes after the entrée was consumed and we were never asked if we wanted coffees or after dinner drinks.

We had a great dining experience! The menu has many options, we were seated at a corner window table which was quiet & with a lovely variety view. Jessica, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable & professional. We both had a delicious dinner, a very nice evening for my birthday celebration. Thank you.

EXCELLENT experience for our family to get together and enjoy each other's company without having to do any prep or clean up! Delicious cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and of course the unforgettable lava cakes! From the valet service to the attention we received at our table to boxing up our leftovers - everything went smoothly.

food was mediocre at best - the "sunset beets" was cold and flavorless, advertised to come with pesto and goat cheese - these were just smears on the plate - just for aesthetics ; they advertise a 1lb king crab - for which they charge $95 and they only brought a half pound, and claimed it was a full pound ; they advertise a sea bass as a main course - but do not really serve a sea bass- it is clearly replaced with some other mild tasting white fish they think customers will not know the difference; the vegetables served with the meals were bland, oily and undercooked ... service was slow ...

A Chart House is a fine dining experience. The ambience is great for a date night and the service is exceptional.

Simply outstanding. From pulling up to the complimentary valet (quick, friendly, made great eye contact, genuine interaction) to after-dinner coffee (deep, rich, excellent coffee), every part of the experience was perfect. Incomparable food, attentive service that never felt rehearsed or rushed, and of course - the view... all exceeded expectations. Our server, Dakota, was engaging but never intrusive, genuinely kind, and managed the timing of our multi-course meal in a way that made it both luxuriously relaxing while still ensuring we met our "we need to leave by" time - without me looking at the time once. Every dish was perfectly done (mussels, Ahi, Sea Bass, creamed spinach, lava cake, gooey butter cake) but a special nod to the lobster bisque. Absolutely sublime.
