Just went back and it was either a bad day or the food has gone down hill. The waiter was hard to find on multiple occasions. 1 filet was ordered rare and came medium well. 1 prime rib was ordered medium rare and was almost over medium. Might have been the worst herb rubbed prime rub i have ever had. Where is the rub???? Old review below :
HINT arrive before dusk and watch the city turn dark and glitter while you are eating. Food is fantastic and the Kimchi Calamari is wonderful. Kimchi is not overpowering and is just cooked into the soy glaze. Steaks cooked perfectly.

Never ceases to amaze me. Karen was an excellent server that made our meal extra special!

I need to try other entrees. Good menu though. I am going tonight!

I sent this feedback to the restaurant directly, but they did not respond after a week so I'm posting here:
Feedback on tonights dinner since, except for social media, there is no other way to contact you. We've been to this Chart House several times, however, tonight was a solid disappointment. Food and valet were excellent. What didn't go so well were these:
1. Waited awkwardly in the lobby for 15 minutes - no exaggeration - after our reservation to be seated. There was not a single gesture to say anything like we're getting your table ready or sorry for the delay, even though it was often just the hostess and us as several other parties arrived and were seated. There should have been some acknowledgement about the long wait time.
2. We were seated next to a very loud party of 3 where every other word was a swear and complaints about their work at a dental practice. I said something to the waitress about their loudness, which had to be obvious. I understand that there's not a whole lot you can do, but a more experienced waitress might have seen this issue coming, since the guest loudly complained when he had to move his seat in to let us be seated, and be offered to seat us somewhere else. It was unpleasant to have to listen to this loud and negative commenatry. It overwhelmed everything and felt hostile.
3. It was cold. I asked the waitress if she could turn down the cool. She said she could but then forgot. I asked again and she came back with napkins and plates which I could put over the vent. It was uncomfortably cold for the entire stay.
4. There was a brush bristle in my fish. That was gross, but was handled quickly and appropriately. Thank you.
5. The waitress was sweet and kind, but very busy with several other large parties. Many staff checked in on us and were helpful but given all the other issues we were left in the end to feel neglected.
Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience due to the atmosphere, the cold and the long waits. If this is a special occasion you may want to find another place. Fine dining is all about the experience and the restaurant fell far short on delivering this kind of atmosphere.

The food is wonderful. The serving staff were amazing. We had a gentleman with us who was in a walker, the wait staff helped get him around.

Great happy hours

Had steak, was like butter, just fell apart, perfectly seared, delicious. Salad with Italian dressing...refreshing! Service was excellent! Incredible views of Portland! Top it off, prices were very reasonable!

We were wowed by this location and view, driving in park like road approaching the restaurant was very great pleasure. The restaurant sits on a hill overlooking the river below and Mt Hood + St Helen. Very spacious seating and excellent food. We loved the prime rib, tender and juicy; the miso sake grazed cod, favorable; our favorite was the superb seafood bouillabaisse, we even asked additional bread so we can dip the soup. The parking was valet parking without waiting, the staff were very friendly and easygoing. We had a great time and will definitely go back again.

I was there with a large group. Impressive to make so much food taste so good for so many people!! Excellent service as well!

Such a beautiful setting with views. Service and food always dependable and good. We keep this spot as one of our "go-to" places!

By far the best restaurant in Portland. Cannot beat the beautiful view. All eight different items we ordered were fabulous. Can't wait to come back.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our 20th anniversary!!!! Everyone made us feel so special! The view and food were spectacular, as usual. Our thanks to Karen for her hospitality and attentiveness.❤️

Great attentive service; food was good (one fish dish was slightly overdone); view was amazing as always. However they playlist didn't fit the vibe of the restaurant, I would expect a more classic upscale experience but the playlist was club music (Dua Lipa, Cardi B, etc.). Great songs but not for this type of restaurant; definitely was something that once you noticed you couldn't stop hearing and paying attention to it, so it ruined the experience and expectation a bit.

Opentable Diner

We took extended family (kids included) for a Sunday brunch/lunch for a little celebration. I always love the atmosphere and view. First time trying their brunch/lunch menu and appreciated that they combine brunch items with items from their regular menu.....something for everyone, including the kids!!!

Everything was just perfect! Ashley (Smash) was a great waitress, sweet and helpful. The food was so fresh and tasty. Copped spinach salad with a side of salmon was just delightful. I frequent Chart House and am rarely disappointed.
