The old owners have sold the restaurant to more Chez Jose lovers & they have kept all the same recipes....except the hot salsa is how blended rather than the bits of veggies that used to there just in a different way. Same great taste!

I was told that this restaurant was saved after covid and that the food quality remained excellent. Maybe I was expecting too much. Chile relleno what is below average. Rice was dry, black beans were just okay. Waiter at least did his job, but no more. Nothing here would make me want to go back.

Hands down, my favorite Mexican restaurant! The chips are perfection, the warm salsa is absolutely divine! I love the Lime Chicken enchilada, it's balanced, perfectly spiced and uber flavorful! If you haven't been, you must go and if it's been a while, go now!

I had not been here in a long time so I thought I would check it out again. I order the Butternut Squash Enchiladas. It was not very hot when it arrived and the rice was not cooked all the way and the vegetables were crunchy. So disappointing!!

I would describe this as Portland's version of tex-mex. For example, I had the butternut squash enchilada plate and there was 10 different tequila's to choose from on the menu. It was very good evening.

Friday 12/29/23 Honestly this place just is not good. I had an order of veggie fajitas, beans tasted old, rice was not good, and for some reason they had slices of squash. worst thing was the guacamole and sour cream came in these like 2 oz cups, so like basically i guess as a way to cut costs. so cheesy in my opinion if you are charging $20… also they charge for salsa and chips, it truely was just not a good meal, they give u small cups for water and the waiter was friendly but the food honestly just was not good. I understand this place is popular but as a local guide i feel compelled to give an honest review. my family took me out here so i just won’t be coming back like ever. not good, not tasty, but yes friendly staff
