‘Drinks were good, when we finally got them. The barista started talking to the customer behind us as soon as he came in, and continued talking to him (seemingly without stopping to breath) after we carried out our drinks. I can’t be sure he ever stopped. It’s as if we were lucky he was able to squeeze his cafe responsibilities into his conversation.
My new husband and I stopped in at this place for lunch after we’ve visited the Rose Garden. We wanted to find a place that wasn’t located in downtown so we could avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown. We are so glad that we found The Clearing Cafe because it was a very good spot to have lunch. My new husband ordered a toasted Sammy and I ordered the tuna salad sandwich. Both sandwiches were yummy! I also ordered a strawberry scone and it tasted delicious!! An added bonus...
I really liked the chill vibe of this coffeehouse and the food and cappuccinos were great. The reason I go to new coffeehouses all the time is for the experience and that's what lacked here. The staff was not very engaging. When I asked what was good, the response I got was "coffee." I was looking for a little more than that.
