Nice coffee option in the Hawthorne district. Comfortable seating, even a fireplace, and good friendly service. Coffee was very good and full of smooth intense flavor. The bakery case looked good although we just stopped in for a cappuccino.

Great space, but wasn’t a fan of their espresso roast.
Hard to pick best in Portland with the level and quality available. Hard to not mention Coava near the top.

Excellent coffee, queer staff, located right across from Safeway: lately it's my go to spot!
Parking: Coava is on Hawthorne Blvd. There is a handicapped spot right in front of this coffee shop. Space for parking at the curb in front is often ample: it sits in a residential area and there is plenty of neighborhood parking with functional sidewalks.

The coffee and baristas are great, but why can’t I stir in my own cream and sugar? This is very inefficient especially when a line of people start piling up to order, along with a line of people waiting for their cream and sugar to be stirred into their coffee
Chill cafe, kind staff, competitive pricing, yummmmy homemade vegetarian marionberry pop tarts, delicious coffee.
My one complaint: only ONE size of coffee cup and it's only about 10oz... I didn't want to have to order two to go, that's cumbersome.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Pastry instead of lard-based

Beautiful coffee shop with high ceilings, cozy spots to hangout both inside and outside. Limited coffee selections but coffee was great!

Beautiful, cozy space in a beautiful neighborhood location, and they serve baked goods from Farina Bakery which are amazing. My latte tasted good but the espresso felt watery and not velvety. However the barista was awesome and very accommodating ❤️.
Vegetarian options: Curry hand pie is vegeterian

Workers did great! Good café. Uncomfortable stools but I could have chosen to sit at the sofa.

Super nice staff and amazing coffee.
Very kind baristas, I really like stopping in when I'm in the area. The espresso is fantastic and the matcha latte is one of my favorites in town.

If you remember the toxic hipster attitude of the early 00s, and how Stumptown led that charge, this will seem very familiar. In the spirit of the 20s, this is the low quality reboot. The coffee in and of itself is competitive in Portland. The prices are a laugh a minute, so it's easy to pass up.
