First time coming for lunch and the service was so friendly and professional. The food was delicious as well. And the outdoor space is incredible!

The sandwiches was a decent size. The biscuit was fresh, nice and buttery on the inside. We thought the place was decently priced. However, the sandwich tasted quite bland as it had no cheese or sauce and the sausage lacked in seasoning. We really wanted to like it cause the sandwich looked so beautiful but unfortunately it’s just bland. It’s definitely filling though!

I visited Commissary Cafe in summers and they were not open for dine in due to COVID-19 precautions. They had a couple of tables as outdoor seating. I ordered biscuit breakfast sandwich with greens and iced mocha. Mocha had just the right proportions of coffee and cocoa. And the egg sandwich was yumm- fluffy eggs and lots of greens.

Consistently mess up orders (3 / 3). Incredibly slow with no setting of expectations for hour long waits. Good bottled kombuchas though!

Worked there a couple of years ago for time long enough and could not wait to find a reason to leave. The absolute disregard for how the food and cold brew is prepared has blown be away to this day.I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Even after questioning those teaching me the process about how dangerous and unsanitary it is, all I got was a shoulder shrug and “that’s just how we always do it,” from multiple employees. All of these shots were taken from watching employees through the process. Two are from the “prep room” that is in the basement next door to the cafe and it shows how they prepare and cut the cold brew. The third one is from a random single night event where they stored the bottles in the same ice machine the baristas get ice from for iced drinks and no, the machine was not cleaned for days after.Sure you can mark this off as a disgruntled ex employee but I actually left on my own terms, I just waited long enough to not be attacked for posting the truth.

I have been to this cafe around 10 times now and only have a good experience twice. The staff is rude and the service is very slow. Usually, this speaks to poor management and staff being underpaid and overworked. I live only 1 block away but will no longer go to this cafe. Please figure out your staffing issues.

Used to love this place and would come here every weekend. Lately the Staff became very rude and disrespectful. Seems like this establishment is very politically motivated and if you don't agree with their propaganda your not welcome there anymore. So much for being "tolerant". As an immigrant I felt racially profiled even though they have anti racist slogans on the walls. Would not recommend.

What a gem of spot. First off the coffee, biscuits, and pastries are so, so good. The GF biscuits are excellent. What really stands out is Commissary's service. We ordered a pecan pie, cranberry sauce, and rolls for Thanksgiving. When I arrived they were out of rolls and the next batch wasn't quite ready yet, and I was unable to make it back on Thanksgiving day. So they hand delivered our rolls that evening; to the Eastside! And gave me extra rolls and a cookie. The kindest gesture during their busiest season.Needless to say we big fans.

If you like good drip coffee and jammers than this is the place for you. My all time favorite coffee stop in Portland.

I love getting pure milk instead of anything remotely chai flavoured!

Met the owner, very impressive person and truly cares about her customers and her community. Plus their pastries are next level. That’s a hard combination to beat.

10/10 based on cookies alone. The coffee is solid as well but I've spent years surveying the best cookies in town and I'd have to say Commissary Cafe does indeed have the best.

Amazing baked goods. Pop tarts on Friday are spectacular and always cool new flavors. Quiche is the best I've ever had

I walked by this coffee shop a few times and decided to try it today and I'm so glad I did. I got the Fall Spice late with almond milk (seasonal and delicious), and asked about their granola. It's $20/a bag which was too much for me but the girl at the register suggested their yogurt granola cup. And I'm so glad she did because it was delicious. They also ask you to wait for your order outside, and have a few covered spots to wait for your order. And they're dog friendly! Highly recommend :)

Mediocre beverages & food. The owner is rude, cruel, manipulative & treats her employees poorly. High turn over. I do NOT recommend supporting this place or this person. There's so many other great options for food & drink in Portland. SKIP THIS PLACE. Seriously. The owner is evil & the food & drink are bad.
