Out of the several gluten free pizzas I've had so far, Communion Bakehouse's sausage and olive pizza was hands down the best. The crust tasted so much like a regular crust that I did a double take and had to check the box. If it didn't say GF on it I wouldn't have been able to tell that it's gluten free. I also was happy to see that they had gluten free fried risotto balls on the menu. I tried those and they were really good -- especially the sauce. I went in last minute and there was a 25 minute wait. It was worth it, but if I had to order again I'd call first. They were great about social distancing. The woman at the counter was able to take my order at a very far distance and I didn't have to have any contact with her in order to pay with my credit card. Overall, I had a great experience and would visit again.

Just tried communion for the first time today, and the pizza was so fire! also got some delicious chocolate chip cookies. the outdoor seating area was cozy, and the food came out quickly. i'll definitely be going back (:

Communion is everything a restaurant should be. Highest quality ingredients (they make pretty much everything from scratch) and excellent flavors, plus a great selection of beers and ciders... I am lucky enough to have enjoyed the owners creations from a previous city, and feel so lucky to live in Portland now so I can continue to support and enjoy their delicious food.

Neighborhood restaurant with outstanding food choices. This visit I had shrimp salad.....Can't wait to order again. My husband had pepperoni cup pizza and lived it. This time we ate at one of the driveway patio tables. Lovely.

Finally creative top notch food in Sellwood! We can't believe we missed this spot so don't make the same mistake! This food is nothing like the average spot..by far the best food in the hood. The burger is the best we have had. We had a seasonal pizza that was off the charts. We will be back regularly. We hear the Sunday pastries and cheesecake that can't be missed. We believe it. Support this local business and keep original creative food alive in Sellwood and Portland. Lovely owners that live in out neighborhood.

these guys are above and beyond gourmet flavors and rustic satisfaction! great flavor combos that are unique and satisfying. excellent crust, perfectly cooked. died for the peach and burrata salad. it melted my brain. perfect lemony creamy dressing and a touch of shredded redichio! they know their flavor profiles.

I have enjoyed the weekend pastry boxes and cheesecake for awhile now - it is seriously some of the best dessert/pastry in the city. Today we sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful sweet corn pizza, peach and burrata salad, and roasted cauliflower with a Mediterranean herby flavoring. I highly recommend it.

We’ve been getting the pastry boxes on the weekends. They are absolutely the best pastries in town. The kind of pastries that make you mad they’re so good. Amazing.The pizza is also stupendous. Amazing flavors, perfect thin crust. You should absolutely eat at this place right now.
