Listed as "temporarily closed" on G-maps. I've tried their number hoping for carry out, but it seems to be disconnected. Anybody know more info?

Closed, temporarily? I really wanted to order from Conin today - so much so that even though the online ordering wasn't the full menus and the telephone number didn't work, I still went there to try to order in person. But it was closed (5:30 pm) and looks under renovation. Just a heads up! Hopefully they will re-open.

Not Mexican food that people normally think of, seems more like Caribbean cuisine. The salsa was not spicy, tasted like marinara sauce. When my date asked for a hotter salsa the older balding gentleman gave us a dirty look and never came back with it. The server girl was 110% friendly & sweet, she was the nicest part of the restaurant experience.

I noticed Conin on a walk as I live in neighborhood. Today was the day to order pick up. I called in after reading all the great reviews. They sell their own salsa which was mentioned throughout the reviews. Also ordered the chicken burrito and guacamole. Everything is delicious! They even threw in some chips! Maybe it comes with the guacamole but still a nice surprise. I can't wait to come in for a margarita.Even though there is no inside dining at the moment, I enjoyed the vibe inside. It's cozy and doesn't come off pretentious. The service was wonderful. Smiles all around. Until we are able to fully enjoy this gem for a dining experience, I will be ordering again. Thank you for being in the neighborhood!

My boyfriend always gives me grief for declaring that certain Mexican food may be very good, but totally inauthentic. I really don't want to sounds like a snob! My step dad raised me for part of my childhood in Morelia and he always cooked delicious Mexican recipes from Abuela for us growing up at home. Tex mex is good, but this aint it. Conin is the real deal. Hands down the most delicious authentic Mexican food I have had in Portland, if not the entire Pacific Northwest. You would never expect this tiny tucked away restaurant off of a high way would be this mind blowing. Everything is delicious and my whole family goes there almost exclusively because everything is so fresh and prepared perfectly. I try to get something new every time I go and have never been disappointed! Don't sleep on the marinated pickled veggies that come on the side of most plates. Real hero side right there. Their guac is also top notch, a true test of a Mexican restaurant in my opinion. I recently had my in laws in town and they are PICKY. I mean, picky picky. I decided to give them the Conin menu and we would do take out for dinner. I promise I was holding my breathe because you never know with these guys. THEY LOVED IT. They freaked out over the veggies on the side and said they had never had fish prepared better. Papa in law got the fish tacos and proclaimed them the best he's ever had. Mama in law got the pescado querétaro (and she is the one who will push away a plate for a tiny reason), she licked the container clean. THANK YOU CONIN! You have been feeding my family since you opened, and now you are feeding my in laws as well!

This is a real gem of a local restaurant, serving traditional dishes from the owner's grandmother in Querétaro, Mexico. Fish, chicken, beef dishes with rice & pickled vegetables. Friendly staff and excellent food!

Fresh Mexican food that's not like any other Mexican food. Who makes Homemade roasted fresh salsa? These guys do!.. Dobel Margaritas are amazing and delicious.. Why haven't you come here or ordered out?. Service is wonderful. We'll be back..even though we live in Beaverton.

Family owned, authentic central Mexican food. Terrific service and the food was so good. I had enchiladas and my husband had a chimichanga. Both were delicious. Full bar. Not your everyday Mexican menu great variety of unique dishes and Mexican favorites. Well priced. I would highly recommend eating here or getting an order to go.

I REALLY wanted to like this like this place. I am giving a VERY generous 3 stars. It was only okay. There was no flavor! I expect much more from a Mexican restaurant. The highly raved salsa, was awful. And not spicy at all. The chips were store bought. (at a Mexican restaurant)The esquites had no cayenne, which I expect to be a dominant flavor in that dish.Margaritas were okay, at best.I have been to many Mexican restaurants. Most are better than this one, unfortunately.

Maybe it's just because I ordered a burrito but, it's was so bland. Granted all it had in it was beans, rice and chicken but, the rice was over cooked and the chicken was a little dry inside with absolutely no seasoning at all. I couldn't tell the difference between any of the ingredients. The rice wash mushy and the chicken somewhat chewy. Every bite tasted the same just a blob of mush. At the very least the chicken should of had some flavor in it but, no. Even the potatoes where undercooked and absolutely no seasoning. A little salt goes a long way.

Not sure how they got the good reviews before. The food was inauthentic, the combination of flavors was unfortunate, and part so free food were undercooked (potatoes and carrots) when others were over cooked. The "salsa" had the texture and flavor of pasta Marineira d'aide, and had distinct hints of basil in it. I ordered the enchiladas verdes, where the chicken was cooked in the same tomato sauce before evening rapped in the corn tortillas and lights covered in a green salsa which clashed in flavor with that of the tomato sauce ( which should have not been there in a green enchilada). The service bead lacking too. The owner came out and asked if all was ok, my friend and I asked for a spicier salsa for the chips and some salt. Neither were delivered to us. Last, I will say that for the service and quality of the food it was significantly over priced at 13$ for the enchiladas and 3.5$ for an agua fresca.
