Coq à Vin feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. It’s the kind of true farm-to-table experience that reminds you of those European countryside excursions — the ones hosted in a monastery, on a farm, or in someone’s own kitchen — where every detail carries a story.

The duck was absolutely beautiful: buttery, tender, and cooked with real care. The pâté was another standout — homemade and paired with a jam made...
Incredible experience! The people here are so lovely and the food was phenomenal. This is a very special and unique dining experience, I haven’t seen anything else like it in Portland. Coq au Vin exceeded all of our expectations. The chef/owner, George, prepared a meal that was fresh, thoughtful and seasonal. Rose curates a wine pairing that compliments the menu without overpowering it. The prices reflect the quality of ingredients (sourced from the farm and garden), the creativity of the menu, and the seamless service. George & Rose exude warmth--no pretension, just a sincere wish to ensure you have a memorable night.
